    Radian stabilizers

I already have several of these for my RSGS. Will they also work for the Radian or do they need to be 5.5k 1/4 watt? http://photohigher.co.nz/assets/Uploads/Skyline-Wiring-Modification.pdf

Time Magazine - Rise of the Drones

I think I have invested around $250K in my AP business over the last 7 years. It's all been paid for for some time now so that's a plus. Would I invest that kind of money today? No way!

    Welcome to RC Shutter

I am having no luck getting this to work on my 5D Mk2. I have tried both 3 pos. switch and stick. I think it may be DOA. Anyone else using it on this camera with success?

    RED Killer? Sony F5 - F55

Ditto. Red has recouped their development costs for Epic so its gloves off now . Just ordered an Epic PL mount to keep our Scarlet company. Arri should be watching their backs right about now. 2013 is looking very interesting.

    Crashing Question

Which is why we avoid flying over people. Not that most would care here but I based my servo performance testing on Ola's set up. " to measure is to know" http://www.ofremmi.info/F3A/Technic/ServoTesting/ServoTesting.htm

    Crashing Question

I apologize but I don't follow some of the logic here. The thread is about avoiding crashes. As a point of reference I mentioned that I have not had a crash with any of my SR helis in seven years. This represents over a thousand AP flights. I am then informed that MR's are far more reliable due...

    Crashing Question

I disagree. While I haven't taken the MR plunge just quite yet, I recognized early on that avoiding crashes was going to be the #1 priority to building a profitable AP business. Seven years later, I have only had three forced autos and zero crashes. It is possible but it takes a major time...

    CS8 for cinema

You make it sound pretty much plug and play. It's one thing to do something a few times and quite another to have something that is battle tested that you can count on, day after day. I have over 150 flights with either the Epic or Scarlet on our SR helis in a wide range of wind/weather...

    CS8 for cinema

Thanks for taking time to reply. Unfortunately the use of cine primes is non-negotiable. Our current SR rigs have no problems doing this but the MR could open up some new shot opportunities. Historically this type of equipment and guarantees usually aren't used in the same sentence and I don't...

    CS8 for cinema

I am still on the fence about jumping into Cinestar. My dilemma is we mostly do feature films which requires using cine glass. We mainly use 18 to 50 mm Red, Cooke or Leica primes. It appears that Quadrocopter is fine throwing up videos of lifting Epics and small compact cars, but falls short of...

NEWS Article with a POSITIVE outlook on Multi Rotor use for Aerial Filming.

Not a smart move in the current environment. Media exposure is the kiss of death for commercial AP. My bad, didn't catch it was down under. All is good.

Two clients want me to fly their RED EPIC cameras - advice?

To fly a $50K camera you had best have all your crashing behind you. The attitude that if you fly you will crash has no place in this scenario. We employ the zero defects philosophy where all crashes are preventable if all reasonable precautions are taken. It takes a full four hours to do a...

Two clients want me to fly their RED EPIC cameras - advice?

I notice I am far more relaxed flying my gas versus electric helicams as I am not always constantly worrying about how much time I have left and can focus more on getting a good take.
