New 540 Class Folding Quad Frame

Most of you "older" guys know me from the nostalgic Hoverfly days. Back then I was building experimental folding quadcopter frames Some of you pm'd me back then expressing interest and asked to be notified if I ever started selling a version of the design. So a few years later, after a lot of...

ESC Braking To Speed Up Response?

A fellow at our local flying field described an esc, that has supposedly hit the market, that uses a micro braking routine to allow quicker response times between stick and motor. I couldn't find anything on line but I'm not the greatest at sleuthing the web. Thought I'd try here.

Hoverfly Maintaining Altitude Has Always Been A Chore With My HFP

I cut my eye teeth on HFP. I always thought this was pretty normal for fc boards in general when flying in wind - that constant moving the throttle stick up and down to keep the copter at the same altitude for the shot. I notice this is not the case when I fly with the NAZA M ver 2 - height...

    Hoverfly Waterproofing Your Electronics

Any of you flying over water a lot might want to check this out. Someones sent me this link on Facebook and it seems to be OK for electronics if you believe the ending segment. I may try it on one of my HFP's and tempted to spray the Hero3 :livid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZrjXSsfxMQ

Hoverfly HF GPS Functiionality vs DJI NAZA M

I'm on the fence here. I really want to buy the HF GPS but I just put together a NAZA M system and really like the gps related bells and whistles. I own and fly three HFP boards and haven't found anything close to the solid feel of that board - it's still my go-to for critical LOS flying...

DJI Naza FPV Flip On Latest Firmware?

I was on my 6th battery at the flying field practicing fpv and it suddenly did a slow right roll - had the goggles on so I only saw what you see here in this very short clip. Has anyone in this community personally seen this or heard about it with Naza M. I'm relatively new to this system...

Motors Spin Up After Arming - Normal With Naza M?

Motors Spin Up After Arming - Normal With Naza M? Never Mind Well, here I am at the beginning again. After a few years flying with HFP, I decided to give the Naza M system a try. Right now it's sitting on my work bench without props. When I arm, the motors immediately go to about 1/4 speed...

    Hoverfly Anyone Using Carefree?

I've avoided the gps board up until now mostly because it adds another layer of complexity but also I was waiting for features to mature a bit. Carefree seems pretty useful for LOS fliers who never got comfortable flying nose in (yeah, that's me all over). I'd really like to hear from any of...

    Hoverfly Gimbal For Aerovideo's Homebrew?

Paul and I traded some parts. I got his infamous Homebrew frame - the one that's been in more than a few spectacular (and I might add, entertaining) crash vids but also the source of some of my favorite fpv moments. I added new cf/delrin arms, and designing a simple 2 axis direct linkage 125g...

Hoverfly The Disadvantages Of Not Calibrating HFP Board

As long as you ARE NOT running a GPS board, there doesn't appear to be any disadvantage. As most of you are pro, this MAY be the wrong forum for this but at the same time you guys have more experience so... let me explain. I loaded up firmware 4.6r2 and stability in wind seemed to suffer...

Hoverfly 4.6 Gimbal Problem On Power Up

HF, When things settle down could you fix the gimbal issue in 4.6 where it tilts full back after power up but before arming? Once it's armed it straightens out but never at the exact same tilt angle. This puts unneeded strain on the servos and it was not present in previous firmware.

    Hoverfly H Quad

OK, first post here. This is an HFP controlled H quad that I put together from spare parts last Sunday. The front loaded gimbal is my home brew "Earl's Gimbal" which is coming along but not quite ready for prime time. The quad is a bit front to back tipsy for all the known reasons but when I...
