I'm getting back into FPV and was wondering how you interfaced the gopro to transmit FPV video? or do you have a separate TVL camera? thx! :)

kloner, is that a PhotoHigher AV130 gimbal under the first quad? If so, how are you mounting that to the quad. I have an AV130 that I'm trying to figure out the best way to mount on my F550.

Thanks,

John

You can buy a video out cable that connects to a video transmitter. Search gopro video out should give you quite a few options

Aerial DP
it is the AV 100 tilt only. Bolted it up using the Aerial Media Pros mount kit. theres a few solutions for yours there

I fly a heap but I don't do much with fpv at all... although I have had a set of goggles for 5 years!

I threw together last night. Nothing fancy. RCT 2836/11 motors, KK2 controller, 3S and 4S capable.

Standard Gopro2. I still have lots of vibes to sort. The fpv is from the separate cam to the side of the Gopro.

I am using 1.3g - 400mW on this. I will be range-testing it tomorrow with Stacky coming down for a play at the field.

The KK2 isn't behaving yet. A few instability wobbles that I cant tame. I was flying without the Gopro so the balance may not have been on the spot. I have a 4 1/2" screen on a stalk on my Tx that I'm using to test it. I was comfortably flying around "my park" using just the screen - with the ability to look up if required. A good start.

This is my "special operations" copter, whenever I fly it, it becomes an adventure:

Stacky and I did a run out to the Hamilton field this morning. I knocked off 7 batteries - 5 in the new FPV machine. That only stopped because I fell off the top of the fields dunny while landing fpv on the roof! I flew 360M away and to the 400' limit (with an observer). We had a blast. I also flew the DW VM-6 fpv for the first time. Nothing too adventurous but it was so damn easy in manual-mode with Hoverfly. So smooth. I am using Photohigher Skyline to control the gimbal. Really good results all round.
I can now see the attraction to flying 50kph "just" above the corn field ;) What a blast.
Now I have 60 minutes of video to sort... when I get back from a 3-day trip.

60 minutes of flight time cut to 6.
The copter is a bit wobbly (good ol KK2) and the Gopro has some jello but some of this is good I think. Not bad since I've flown only 2-3 times fpv in the last year.
