If I want to take some aerial pics with the gopro should I take video and then screen capture the shots I want to make into pictures or should I put it in picture mode where it starts shooting them individually.

Thanks

If you dont want ridiculous fisheye distortion you can screenshot 1080 video (setting r5, 127deg FOV), but quality not good. I would personally take stills.... as long as you have software for stretching out the distortion and a little cropping, or are not bothered about the 170 deg FOV.
Its a great camera in many ways but not a good camera for aerial stills.

I got some good advice here about alternative lenses from sunnex and ragecam.

The GoPro Hero 2 is now taking stills with 127 degree FOV, plus they are now 11mp instead of the 5.

Was 170 the FOV for the first GoPro? I have been trying to find that lately and haven't had any luck.
