NAZA and NAZA Assistant, will it run on USB power only?

I'm trying to run the Assistant with the USB but it doesn't seem possible. Is there some secret to making it run on USB power or do you absolutely have to have a flight battery hooked up (and running through an ESC for voltage regulation?)

If there is a way, I've never sussed it. only been able to power by the battery.

because alot of assistant is rc radio related, you have to power it all up......

Just like many cameras and hard disks, you have to power up the unit separately before the PC can access it.

ok, thanks guys. the mikrokopter flight control can be accessed with USB power only and a lot of configuration stuff can be done like that. there was something in the stuff I read that lead me to believe that the NAZA would power up with USB power but I guess not.
