Hello All.

Would like to share with you my home built FPV Quad Frame.

My prime objective was for it to be:

A. Cheap
B. Strong
C. Fun

After my 3rd prototype this is what I have come up with.

Home made Quad with 15mm PVC pipe and connections.

Frame weight just under 400grams

Total cost for the frame would be under $30.

DJI Naza flight controller (hoverthings.com)
10x4.5" Props (hoverthings.com)
Keda 1050KV Brushless Motor (hoverthings.com)
Advance 20A ESC (hoverthings.com)
FPV Gear from (rangevideo.com)

Total Flight weight 1370 grams (with Gopro Camera)

3s 3000mah Flight Battery (Approx 8 Minute flight time)

Materials used & Measurements:

Class18 PVC Pipe 15mm

Front arms x2 @ 18cm
Rear arms X2 @ 20cm
Centre body x2 @ 8cm

4x 15mm T's connections
4x 45 Degree elbows
2x 100mm x 50mm downpipe adapters

Motor mounts made from:

Carinya Make a Bracket http://www.carinya.com.au/make-a-bracket?id=24

The main body is glued together with PVC cement.
The arms are fixed with two screws top and bottom. (May decide to glue as well if it holds up well after more crashes)

For the top and bottom floors I used a sample sheet of wooden flooring laminate.

The DJI Naza settings are as follows:

Pitch 120%
Roll 120%
Yaw 125%
Vertical 85%
Altitude 100%

Update 1.
I am now fixing motor mounts with 3mm bolts, the screws were coming loose.

Fly,crash,glue,repeat!
Nice work, was it hard getting the mounts level?

Great flying, what happened after the video stopped?

Did you fly out of there, land or crash;)?

I just used a bubble level when I fixed the booms. The Naza controller looks after everything after that.

Here is what happen at the end of my first video.
