weird, reminds me of a machine shop.... the controller freefly shows is more along the lines of a industry standard way you run the current jibs and remote head stuff that allows guys that ran those a seamless integration. This way seems labor intensive. the other part missing is follow focus controls

That is pretty neat. Definitely looks like the hand-wheels on my 1953 metal lathe. These are brand new - so I guess it doesn't have any backlash yet. But that would certainly throw a wrench in the works.

I guess the idea behind is to have a super smooth control over the gimbal....obviously not suitable for every filming scenario

they mentioned these are like what is running remote heads? huh? never seen this on several huge sets. they all look like cineflex and now freefly with the one joystick that controlls the gimbal, other side for focus/aperature and zoom
