Hoverfly GIMBAL Owners' Thread

Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
Finally got around to installing my Hoverfly GIMBAL today. I'm curious to know if anyone knows what the drill is to get the settings worked out without using the autotune function. I saw a PID option but is that necessary if the auto feature isn't used?

Initial indications make it look like it'll work better than the PRO for a 2-axis mount, just have to get out and see how close I am with the first round of settings.

it's just like an hfp board gimbal output. one is the gear ratio so it makes it move more-less or perfect distance. the other one is speed, how fast it gets there. to me if your chasing pid's on that board, your mechanicaly not there yet. they work really good outta the box

Hi Kloner,

I've got it set to use the auto feature and it's looking pretty good so far. the compensation is pretty close and now I"m trying to dial down the speed part of it to eliminate the jitters. overall it looks like it hangs in with the heli better than the controls on the PRO board although I had those pretty close to perfect before making the change.

we'll see. had to make the change to accommodate a camera operator for future work so it's just a short (i hope) trip back up the learning curve!

I found mine to be pretty good. Yaw has always been manual though as I do use two people. I started noticing a glitch when the tray returned to level which was really small but annoying. It also cant point straight down. Neither of these issues overfly has been able to give me a solution to. I kinda gave up. but overall it is the best controller I've had on the av200.
