F550 AP ship, progress so far.

Well I've made allot of progress, so I figured I'd just start a new thread.

This is how I've come with my goal for an F550 AP setup, and a few shots from it's first flight. It's really heavy, but seems to have enough power to still handle and react quickly.

The video from the nex5n to my ground monitor, was horrible though. I think maybe because I was using an RCA to VGA converter for the monitor, but not really sure.

Couple of questions for you.
1. What's the total weight?
2. what are you using for Lipo's
3. What have you got for a gimbal?

I've added new motors and extenstions on my F550 and I'm looking for a better gimbal that what i have now without completely breaking the bank.

I use APC 10-4,7 propellers with leopard motors 850KV and 3s lipo (4000 and 5000 mAh).

Im using 2x 4s 5000 mah batteries. I had to cut away the rubber housing on the hdmi cable, and bend it at the solder joints. It barely fit! The gimbal is aeroxcraft VTR125. The gimbal was expensive, but it is very nice quality, Im very happy with it. Not sure on my weight, I dont have a scale.. but it sure is heavy.

Can you tell me how many time you can fly with this equipment?
Because it is very heavy.
I can fly 7 minutes with this configuration:
F550
RC timer 850 KV motors
APC 10-4.7 proppellers
1x5000mAh battery
Marakato´s gimbal (Spanish product)
1960 gr with 16mm

This is the flight I made, I had a crash later on in the day due to my own inexperience. But! It wasn't to bad, luckily it landed upside down, away from the pool, and not on the gimbal! Broken arm, props, esc, a motor, and F550 frame. I'm back offshore working now, so project is on hold for a little. GPS for my naza broke, think I will just buy wookong now but I'm not 100% sure.

The video wasn't to great, 100% unedited. think that was because NAZA as my flight controller, and I was using default settings. Didn't get to fine tune it.

Yeah me too, sucks, flew out to West Shetland basin today with my AP build so close to getting airborne with 3 weeks to wait.
