Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
i'd think all those springs and flimsy structures will leave the camera jiggling like a bowl of jello
IMHO

Yes - this guy is a serious scientist/engineer and very resourceful. Not sure about this design - looks a bit fragile - but IMHO he's heading down the right general path in terms of optimum isolation/stabilisation.

In other words, I can confidently predict that you'll be seeing more of this "balance" principle in the near future ;)

The balanced beam has been done to death here. It is ok as an isolation device but it needs either mechanical (Heavy ) stabilizer as well or a decent IMU.to steer it. Weight saving is the route to go I think. My own IMU is unbelievable as a inner axis stabilizer but it weighs as much as the camera. Where are you at with CC these days? I have a couple here and I want to get them working.

I'm still slaving away at designing/prototyping, and confidently waiting for the OP Revolution to be launched.

What do you need to achieve to get your CC's back in the air?

I am not sure if I want to use them as FC's but I will get around to trying them in my new machine which I will test with a whole bunch of different stuff. What I would really like from the basic CC board is for it to work better than the camera outputs from the Naza or M. My last tests that I did, showed it to be quite good. So what I was wondering was if you guys had come up with anything in the code since that time. I did hear that James had done some further work not yet released.. It has always been my belief that the FC and camera mount imu should not be the same. i.e. the camera imu measures the result of the FC's correction only. Inner and outer axis principle. 3 Axis. I think you know why I need that third one.

ps the Revolution sounds great, but will we ever be able to get our hands on it?

I like the black cover over the gubbins, had a similar idea but circular to cover ALL my octo, both top & bottom...make myself a UFO, add some fancy LED's & go & scare the local populus.

As for this gents engliche, very impressive...he speaks to fast & with the twang to his engliche it adds to the fun, sort of reminds me of the chinese.."saw finger" = salt & vinegar :)

My bandwidth could'nt keep up with the guys chatter!!

Love the parachute! been thinking of ways of rigging an emergency parachute. lets face it, an MR is just a dropped object in waiting. This is what I hate about them.
Anyone know of any chute systems on the market? There must be some within the hobby rocket industry. I shall consult Dr Google!
