Droidworx MK Gear rail brackets, CNC ALUMINUM, Replace the weak plastic ones

Hey guys, thought I would post these up for anyone interested. I was speaking to Quadrocopter.us about my Gear Rail Brackets, and how they were showing stress cracks. I told them, that this part should be made out of Aluminum, beeing that allot of us are hanging very exspensive cameras from them. This got me motivated to just go ahaed and make my own. If you want something done right, then do it yourself :)

This is the Second batch That I have made. These new brackets have been finished off with some nice Black Anodizing.

Currently I have 20 Sets available.

These are Much more durable than the polycarbonate used by Droidworx. I made these for myself, because I did not trust the plastic ones after seeing the stress cracks.

Anyway, If anyone would like a set. Ill let them go for $49 plus $5 shipping

Compare that to the plastic ones at quadrocopter for $50 plus shipping. Cheaper price, but much more Rigid. Dont wait till your plastic ones fail.

Pics of My Machined Aluminum Brackets. Light and much more durable. If you crash, just bend them back into shape, unlike the plastic ones. One re-use and they pay for themselves. Lets hope that never happens though :eek:

I was under the impression that polycarbonate was used for its vibration absorbing properties. How will the aluminum ones behave? Have you tested them?

In the dark days of novice flying and pilot error crashes I made my own aluminium ones using the broken ones as templates. I did not notice any difference in the video quality but that was then. Since rebuilding my ADX3 standard and heavy lifters with the polycarbonate ones I have not had any problems with cracking.. I still keep my aluminium ones in my spares box as a just in case!

@parick they look very nice.

Yes they have been tested. I have them on all my builds, and all my clients builds. They work just as they should and have no adverse dampening properties. I sent a set to quadrocopter for them to test out. After reviewing and testing them out, They ordered 100 pieces from me. Im not sure if you know this, but the two larger holes are for fitting the rubber groments. Those isolate most of the the vibrations. If your still getting vibration problems, I am affraid its not because of the brackets. It is probly due to some other problem, such as unbalanced props and such.

Hey Guys,

I just got some of these from Patrick and they look super nice! I will be putting them on my current build. Think I might order another set at back up.
