    Best Flight Controller for me?

I am looking to purchase a new flight controller for my quad in the relatively near future and I'm looking for advice on which way to go with it. What I am looking for mostly is a controller with GPS, that is relatively lightweight and easy to set up. I use the KK2.1 presently and I really...

Using different battery types on a quad.

They weren't nearby when I lifted off, they saw it and came to have a gawk. I didn't even notice them until I turned to see what I was going to crash into. Once I work out how to install LEDs I'm going to fly by night as there is a vast open field near me but it is only clear by night. The edge...

Using different battery types on a quad.

Thanks for the advice, I know a guy that knows his stuff about batteries but he's away doing his PhD and wont come home until Easter. I'll ask him then. I'll check out the Li-Air batteries too. I've discovered that I need to work on stability before efficiency as I was having a small problem...

Using different battery types on a quad.

It's "an optional pre-entry project at your(my) own cost to help the college assess your(my) current practical and theoretical knowledge." - quote from the lecturer...

    Guess what? another newbie

With a 3s LiPo I'd recommend sticking to the 10" props for sure. If you choose to move up to a 4s LiPo then give the 8" props a go. I find with 3s the 845 props I have don't give enough lift, with a 4s I find that the 845 props are more stable than 1045 props while still giving sufficient lift...

    XT60 to Banana question

Thanks for the help everyone. One final question, someone advised me to install an in line switch between the battery and the distribution board, is this advisable? It seems to me that it would be a little pointless and could invite unnecessary problems.

    XT60 to Banana question

Sorry for being unclear. I meant the LiPo I bought was advertised as coming with a cable for connecting it to the power distribution board, the cable that was provided was actually a male servo cable with the other connector cut off and the connector attached to the battery was a male XT60. I...

    XT60 to Banana question

Hey, I started on my first RC project a couple of days ago, I bought all the parts individually online and just now when I went to solder my battery connector to the board I realised the guy has sent me a battery with a female XT60 on the end and a connector with (what I think is) a male servo...
