What weather limits for a S900?

I've had mine out in 20mph gusts without too much bother. No point going up even in a wee bit of rain if you have a camera on board as water will be on the lens in a jiffy.

    Controls Setup

Yes LED at the back and until you get used to basic flying probably best to keep the back towards you so the controls are more intuative. And find some safe space to fly in. Cheers Pete

    Zenmuse GH4 Owners thread

Timtim, I'm fairly sure there is a temperature link to this problem. Couple of week back I tested it again and again in the workshop and all was well but as soon as we got on-site where it was around freezing I just couldn't get anything out of it, then back in-doors it worked on the third power...

It's part no. 60 for the GH4 cable. Pete

    GH4 Rig Recommendations

I have mixed feelings about the GH4 zen. It really is very good but can be incredibly frustrating when on location, what works one day doesn't work the next. I think if you're going for a s900 or 1000 then go for the Zen and you probably will get a good one, then happy days.

    GH4 Rig Recommendations

I'm loving my DJI S900, fun to fly and good results. Zenmuse gimbal is great when it works...

Zenmuse GH4 HD lead and shutter trigger cable

Not sure on the shutter cable but the hdmi can be found at heliguy or buzzflyer and I dare say elsewhere. Pete

    Mikrokopter GPS Question

I got rather shot down for this in another thread but I think it's best to take off in Atti or similar non GPS reliant mode. I only think this because it's in the Wookong manual and I do love a manual! It also makes sense to me. But either way as Carapau says give it a good bit of welly to get...

Two Stage Safety Voltage cutoff settings for a 6s 10000mah

Hello, I think most people don't use the power safety settings as the craft may decide to land just when or where you don't want it to. Some do but set it lower than the recommended setting, maybe 21.5 for stage one and way lower for stage 2. Better to use a timer and monitor your OSD. I...

Freefly Movi M5 Brushless Gimbal, Official Users' Thread

Old news to some probably but yesterday I took off the toad and bolted direct to Skyjib plate which gave me much higher stiffness settings and nicer video. So it'll be staying off! Pete

    Yuneec Q500 RTF AP/AV Heli

I saw the H920 at a boat show of all places and it looked pretty good with a very sexy transmitter/ground station combo. Couldn't believe how cheap it was when they told me, so much so that I've completely forgotten how much it was!

Yes I think we will have to move on David. All the best over Christmas. Pete

XAircraft First crash. Boo. Flipped on takeoff.

Watch this film that you, please don't skip over the you word in this sentence, posted. When the RTH is being demonstrated the aircraft lands 2-3 metres from the take off point. It's in the video that you, yourself, posted David. And again this is absolutely not a dig at SX but just pointing out...

XAircraft First crash. Boo. Flipped on takeoff.

You really are a piece of work, I guess you are about 14 and going through that unsettling rage against the machine period? You certainly come across that way. Can you show me where I stated that SX couldn't do something well? I was simply commenting on the fact that taking off in GPS with any...

    Zenmuse GH4 Owners thread

Has anyone tried the Olympus Zuiko 17mm f1.8 lens on the Zenmuse? It's a tad lighter but 1.5mm wider so you'd probably need to loose the lens collar...

XAircraft First crash. Boo. Flipped on takeoff.

Thanks for the video link anyway, shame about the unnecessary derogatory comment, but the video actually backs up my point. 4 mins in he pulls back the aircraft and it seeks to go to where it thinks it should be which can be a problem on take off, this is what I was trying to explain earlier...

Can you explain your comment on how I might be challenged finding a video on YouTube?

XAircraft First crash. Boo. Flipped on takeoff.

I don't need convincing thanks, just reiterating what Kloner talked about earlier in the thread which perhaps you haven't read. "the heading magnetism showed an awful lot of movement for it sitting still.... gps lock was not even close to solid in the last graph,,, it showed good on the first...

XAircraft First crash. Boo. Flipped on takeoff.

Well there you go, learn something new everyday, but all sounds familiar. I don't know much about Super X at all but know a fair bit about GPS and it's foibles and differences in accuracy depending on your location. Does the controller in that case suspend it's GPS position acquisition once it...

XAircraft First crash. Boo. Flipped on takeoff.

I don't use superX but it's the same for DJI controllers. GPS is not pinpoint accurate and pinpoint accuracy is what you need for take off. While your machine has been sitting there waiting for take off, powered up in GPS mode, it's taken a fix and decided where it is in the world, a few seconds...
