    Phobotic Centerpiece Brushless Gimbal Controller

All, I have opened the user spreadsheet for the Centerpiece Gimbal for input. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1QFmev59-NXFEOY5o9l_Z17cwKe7dK-62IvCgPVCL-E4/edit?usp=sharing I know it is still lacking some of the key parameter values and I ask that the first of you inputing your data...

    Phobotic Centerpiece Brushless Gimbal Controller

All, I have recently purchased my first brushless gimbal (quadframe v2) but have been trying to decide what controller to use with it. I have used servo-based gimbals for years but would like to get some decent video too. The CP looks very attractive but its hard to drop so much cash when what...

Power module for more than 90 Amp draw

Thanks mlebret for helping! I input those rough numbers to eCalc too and I would definitely agree on the 3s battery and 11" props. The 15a esc's should be fine too. All of this stands as long as your in that 2000g UAW ranges.

Power module for more than 90 Amp draw

Can you tell us the motors, props, batteries you plan to use? frame weight? Did you try eCalc with your setup? I thought you were using Pixhawk with arducopter? Now its beaglebone black?

Power module for more than 90 Amp draw

From my experience you do not want to trust 15a esc's x6 with 100a. I actually have had several hexas that could peak at 90-100a on a full throttle climb and that was using 30a esc's. They were always warm after semi-aggressive flying. Can't imagine using 15a esc's.

Power module for more than 90 Amp draw

You don't want to continuously run your esc's at full capacity and beyond. It would be best to use eCalc for your configuration to get an idea of your actual amp draw or try to find someone who has posted their numbers for a similar configuration. I am not familiar with the F550 so can't help...

HK Multistar high capacity, 10C batteries made for MR: Opinions from the experienced?

I just wanted to report back that I now have 11 flights on the (2x) Multistar 4S 8000mah 10C packs I mentioned earlier in the thread. Still getting great flight times and they seem to be taking acceptable mah numbers back in. No puffing at all. Been out of country so haven't put a lot more on...

Quadframe Foldable Pro SIXcopter - medium lift need

Well, since I didn't get any responses I went ahead an began pulling the trigger on purchases for the build. Two things have changed: 1. After reading about people having issues with SimonK firmware and low KV motors I have changed the ESC's to the Hobbywing Xrotor 40A opto. It shows they have...

Quadframe Foldable Pro SIXcopter - medium lift need

Well I've decided to move up to the world of 6s, I think. Would like advise from the community since I have been an old school 4s battery and 2814 style motor guy for a long time. Just delivered my last decent lifter in that format to an organization in Ecuador to map their forest reserve (more...

Tour of Austin, TX in Sphercial Panoramas taken from my Quad.

Definitely not looking to start a fight, just trying to look out for all of us. I do employ several of your suggested redundancy systems but I also only fly octo formats and don't fly in populated areas (although I admit I did in the early days). Do you employ all those systems? I sure hope so...

Tour of Austin, TX in Sphercial Panoramas taken from my Quad.

I think it looks great. But where you are flying is a bit worrisome with a quad that has no redundancy. I would suggest an octo of some sort that will at least have a chance of staying airborne if you lose a prop, esc, or motor.i realize maybe you weren't directly over people or roads but you...

HK Multistar high capacity, 10C batteries made for MR: Opinions from the experienced?

Hey Bart, I use those supplies for my cheap chargers now and I should just upgrade to a few of these more quality chargers for myself. I really wanted to find some decent self-contained AC/DC chargers for the organization to take to them. At their two field stations all they will have access...

HK Multistar high capacity, 10C batteries made for MR: Opinions from the experienced?

Good to know Gary, thanks for chiming in. Thanks too Bart. I will keep updating this thread. BTW- I now realize part of my APM/Pixhawk volt and current readings may have to do with the fact that I am exceeding the 60A rating for the APM power module. Just ordered a 90A one. That is a serious...

HK Multistar high capacity, 10C batteries made for MR: Opinions from the experienced?

BTW - Both of the Multistar 4S 8000mah batteries just took a more acceptable input of ~6550mah. I'm cheap, not able to get IR from my chargers.

HK Multistar high capacity, 10C batteries made for MR: Opinions from the experienced?

Thanks, Bart. I think you meant one volt over acceptable min on landing.:D I don't think I was getting anywhere near the max amps of 160 with two batteries in parallel during flight. I just did another flight with my watts up meter on it and did discover that my frsky FLVSS volt meter is not...

HK Multistar high capacity, 10C batteries made for MR: Opinions from the experienced?

Hoping I can get some input from Bart or any of you other battery pro's. I just bought 2x Multistar 4S 8000mah 10C packs. If I follow what Bart says above, am I correct that max discharge amperage should be 80 amps? And if I am running two of these in parallel I should be good to 160 amps? My...

Looking for input on Agricultural build.

Thanks Bart. Yah, I figured it was but just saw and thought it was at least interesting. Again, I think what the researchers at www.ecosynth.org are doing is one of the best examples. They have actually been another good resource for me as well. Let me add that APM is equally complex as MK. I...

If this video is real why would you trust any other FC?:) They used APM to track and guide him! edit: totally fake, it's an ad for two indoor trampoline parks....BC

Looking for input on Agricultural build.

Totally agree with Bart! But I will say that Pixhawk is awfully easy to tune as well. I run autotune and then dial it down a bit with the slider under the basic tuning section and all my copters fly as good as my MK's did. IMO, Arducopter waypoint missions are easier to program than MK unless...
