    Tau Labs Camera Stabilization

I'm getting to be very interested in Open Pilot as I think they will emerge as the leader in FC technology with their modular INS technology. These guys go about it the right way. The CC is actually doing as fantastic job of stabilisation in that video. The problem is that the camera mount is...

    OpenPilot

I have recently been looking at the OPENPILOT FC board and it looks very interesting. Some of the guys working on that project are pretty bright when it comes to INS AHRS stuff. Has anyone here used one yet? http://www.openpilot.org/product/openpilot-gcs/

Mikrokopter Got my Mikrokopter Quadro XL Kit today and dissappointed about..

It will be interesting to see how you rate the Axi against the X2826/12. Do you plan to test run them on a bench or in the airframe? I have to agree about the general quality of some of the MK stuff. The thing to watch out for with the X2826/12 is that it can draw a lot of current at full...

    Down and OUT!

Crash, is that a batman suit your wearing or have you been out scareing old ladys? Kirk I have an MK board that does not have any volts going to the pressure sensor, were should I start looking. It is an old board but it works fine as long as you dont need alt. control. As I recall something...

    Down and OUT!

Bad luck sir. That's why I make em out of foam board and balsa. I have three and usually only two are serviceable because I too like flying too close. If you make it all yourself then there's no waiting for bits to arrive. been working on part-2 today and the weather is like - Hot.

Anyone want to collaborate on an OpenSource FPV/Camera frame?

Bart as I get further into the full explanations, it will become clear why this system is the way that it is. It is a no compromise solution. We are going to take a journey thro. the history of how camera stabilisation has evolved. From the basic principle of what a balanced beam achieves, to...

Anyone want to collaborate on an OpenSource FPV/Camera frame?

I have better stability with my quad than I had with Okto. but it's all down to motors and props to get the lift efficiency plus length of the arms and then It is a gyro set-up thing. My set-up is very different from standard MK. You can get anything to hover in a stable mode but it takes time...

Anyone want to collaborate on an OpenSource FPV/Camera frame?

As for the roll axis, I wouldn't bother with that. I often turn that feature off when shooting certain types of look.

Anyone want to collaborate on an OpenSource FPV/Camera frame?

Those soft mounts are standard MK 10 mm, the hard points that they attach to go into the foam board so I make some long alum. parts that epoxy in place from the bottom. They need a flange so that they do not pull through.

Anyone want to collaborate on an OpenSource FPV/Camera frame?

Crash. From the experience that I have had with Octos and hexas I see the quad as being the most efficient layout, but I have not tried 3 motors yet. I think that could end up as the best solution in terms of field of view and power efficiency. I never met anyone who had a redundancy escape...

Anyone want to collaborate on an OpenSource FPV/Camera frame?

Crash you idea is great and can work, it does not have to be this complicated but you can achieve a small light economical design that uses balsa wood and builders insulation foam board as the basic airframe. With the vibration issue solved you could make some impressive videos without any...

Anyone want to collaborate on an OpenSource FPV/Camera frame?

Crash Check this out, Vimeo.com/24278737 it is the first part of a five part series of videos that pretty much describes how to make a breakaway concept design that floats and flies better than the norm. New materials and better ways to isolate the number one cause of bad footage. It will also...

So the bottom line is what do you guys at Droidworx get back in return. Well in my case that is simple. You get an insight into the latest technology that makes an aerial camera ship perform like mine do. XQuads are the most efficient design. With the right FC and motor prop configs. you won't...
