    Camera Mount recommedations

Getting back to the dampers, The Panny 900 is a very difficult camera to mount. and I know many people have given up with this. If you have a heavy camera like a 5D then you need the dampers to be fully operational to gain any effect. However the Panny is much more sensitive to vibration and I...

    Camera Mount recommedations

Jes I have been so flat out recently that I have not had the time to check out the posts. I do have a new machine that I think you guys will like. I just wish I could get my hands on a couple more CC boards. Any news when?

More or less. Advantages of both.

Ducted fans are a completely wrong solution due to the high losses incurred inside the duct. A modern jet engine looses about 80% of it's theoretical efficiency through internal air friction. Ducted fans only work to create a high pressure ratio. That is not to say that a upstream bell mouth...

More or less. Advantages of both.

Mat I ran a test on my motor dyno some while ago and coax. systems were way down on efficiency for a heavy lift machine. As I have never seen a reliable redundancy system for motor/ESC failure it comes down to a quad being the best option for efficiency. Better to buy quality stuff that wont...

    Camera Mount recommedations

Denny That's an interesting point. I figured I'd have to open up the transfer holes and use really light oil to keep the damping light enough but I hadn't considered using something that dampens vibration with just friction drag alone. That has the potential to simplify things a lot and I can...

Monto RC Hobby **Avroto** Motors Contest Giveaway!! Beyond the hover!

Also I think the table must be dead level. Much easier to bounce of a sloping surface.

Monto RC Hobby **Avroto** Motors Contest Giveaway!! Beyond the hover!

Bart I see just one problem. if someone speeds up the video which is very easily done with most edit software these days. Or even undercranks the camera. Then that would not make a level playing field. I would suggest a clock on the table. As a first safeguard. and timeline data to be included...

    Time to design a contest!

How about lifting one large coke bottle filled with water for as long as you can, but with just one 500mAh battery.

Of course the best form of living stabilisation is our own eye ball. Roll-on optic flow technology!!!!

The fly though sky scrapers is all Animated. I didn't even have to do it. These animations are called jump backs. I was a competition barefooter in the uk a few years ago now, but those guys are in a different league, they are the worlds best. All current or previous world champions.

It's just a general purpose P2 DVCPRO panny not anywhere near fully zoomed. It is just sitting on the rate table not bolted down. It is only to prove the point that 5 degrees per second is only of use at very wide angles of view.

http://vimeo.com/26002335 Here's a bit more to be thinking about. Much shorter than intended as I have just been flat out lately. So at the end I included some older stuff that shows what you can do with a balanced beam.

    Tau Labs Camera Stabilization

There certainly is a lot of work going on to improve electronic ACTIVE stabilisation, but a lot of work needs to be done with PASSIVE aerodynamic stabilisation. In order for the gyros to make fast corrections we need higher prop efficiency. Currently most FC's that I have tested need a little...

    Tau Labs Camera Stabilization

You have to start with the model and work backwards. My camera system is a stand alone device, it does not use the FC outputs. First you need to understand why camera movements above 5 degrees per second will produce blurred pixels which do not respond very well to post stab. software, if you...

    Tau Labs Camera Stabilization

Well at the moment Bart. I see CC as a great little board that offers really good stabilisation out of the box. The camera outputs can only be as good as the camera mount that accepts those outputs. That is the limitation of the product at this time. We cannot expect anymore from the developers...

    Tau Labs Camera Stabilization

Purely for information that the developers may be interested in I use an IMU that has .1 us resolution and a 20 deg/sec gyro that drives a G2 hitec servo board running in continious rotation feedback mode. 12/100 reduction. 7.2 volts.
