    Nex 5N flys on WKM

Ken, that does look good. Did you have the camera servos plugged into the WKM for roll compensation?

    Gunters new octocopter build

UBEC for powering the LED's: Anti vibration mounts for camera plate: Gas powered heat shrink gun...I should have realised it would be rubbish at under £20! At least it works to a fashion:

    Gunters new octocopter build

I opted for braided sleeving for the wires: MK camera mount...not a big fan of this, it's very flimsy and horrible to assemble. Not really worth 200 Eur in my opinion. The entire camera mount has to be glued together: Making a power board for the lighting and other bits...

    Gunters new octocopter build

Been very busy buying parts and getting my stuff machined. A few pics below of progress so far: Xoar prop mocked up: 13x4 props cost me just over a fiver each: All of the ali plates have been cut. I just need to get them folded and painted now: Motor mounts work a treat...

    Gunters new octocopter build

That is very neat! I wish I had seen this before I had my stuff cut. I was thinking about something along those lines, but couldn't quite figure it out. :( Gunter.

    Gunters new octocopter build

Chris, do you mean the mounting plates or boom clamps? If you mean boom clamps, that would be extremely helpful! The boom clamps I have managed to find cost £5 per set of 4, not too bad, but have to be specially ordered from the USA which will take another 3 weeks. This is probably also...

    Simple MR design...

Yes, that bike idea is quite funky! I expect the round frame could be slimmed down between the motors to make less surface area, maybe just wide enough for an esc to be mounted there. Gunter.

    Simple MR design...

Your thoughts?? I just knocked this drawing up in 10 minutes at lunch time, I was lying in bed last night thinking of a new multi rotor design...sad I know! All gubbins would be housed between the 2 rings, so quite streamlined...

Rendering with Adobe Premier, you've got to be kidding me!

Snap. By far the easiest for me, will render a 5 minute video in 5-10 minutes...

    Sony Nex 5n test flight.

Nice Jeff, that camera really does do a good job. Thanks, I didn't see that post. Looks like a handy bit of kit!

Ken, do you know if there is a bit of kit out there that will support remote shutter for the N5? That would be the deal breaker for me... Gunter.

Dave, please let me know what diameter braided sleeve you are using there.

UK / Europe MRF Community Meet

Suits me better as well, it means I have more chance of getting my heli done before then. Anyone from down south want to join me for a trip up north? I have just worked out that if there are 6 of us we could do the trip for £25 each sharing petrol costs in my grand voyager. This would include...

LEDs.. WOW these babys are BRIGHT!

I forgot to ask, are you putting the strobes into LED holders? I found the field of view a bit less when I tried it... Gunter.

LEDs.. WOW these babys are BRIGHT!

Yeah, but the future is orange :) Did the heatshrink mod and it works a treat...I just have to get myself a heatshrink gun now and stop burning everything with a lighter!

LEDs.. WOW these babys are BRIGHT!

Perfect, many thanks for the pic. I'll pop out to the workshop and try that now quickly! I like the braided sleeving, I'll have to get some of that for my build. Cheers, Gunter.

    Sony Nex 5n test flight.

I expect with my setup I will hopefully be able to carry the NEX5 and my gopro hooked up to a video transmitter, that should do the job.

    Sony Nex 5n test flight.

I expect that would work okay, you wouldn't know exactly what's in the frame (size wise), but should be a lot better than guessing.

LEDs.. WOW these babys are BRIGHT!

That's okay Dell boy :-) I'm jealous! You are going to beat me to it! I bought the 2 red strobe led's and also the white, red and green superbright for side navigation. Problem with these is that they are hard to mount, what with exposed wires underneath. I though of bonding a rubber washer to...
