    Gunters new octocopter build

Hi JLO, I used aluminium because it is so much cheaper than CF. I had a look online today for carbon, a sheet 400mm X 275mm costs £50. You then have to still have it cut. Then the booms would probably cost about £20 each at a guess, so the airframe would end up costing quite a lot. (My ali...

Merseyside police lose their £13k UAV in a river!

Bart, believe me, this country is so full of political correctness, red tape and beaurocracy, it would take me until my retirement to pull something like that off...this is the place where a local council cancelled a kids egg and spoon race, because they didn't have the necessary indemnity...

Thanks for posting that Plingboot. Most of that flight was in gps mode and it was blowing quite nicely, but she performed very well considering the advanced GPS settings are stock. Cheers, Gunter.

    Nice shiny new motors

The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind... Of course! They have a thrust of over 2kg each and are perfect for bigger heli's....and they look lovely!

    GPS tracking device

Thanks for all the suggestions. The problem with most of those is that it needs mobile phone signal...I suppose nowadays most places have signal, but it would be good to have something that works purely on GPS. Meez's suggestion about the Garmin is good, but they are a bit pricey. I did see a...

    GoPro Resolution

That gopro mount might be the problem. Try and move the camera and see if there's any play between the camera and mount. On all of my mounts, there is a bit of play. Try either a tripod mount with a screw from the top, or to start with, wedge a bit of cardboard between the camera mount and the...

No, that doesn't sound right. It looks like your wire are crossed. Make sure you don't have a short circuit on the heli wiring. Gunter.

WooKong Luvers Care to help out a new Fellow Wookong Buddy

Emo, it sounds like you are trying to fly in manual mode. I did that and broke a few props and took my finger out as well :( Stick it in atti mode and try again :) Manual mode is nasty, so I have disabled mine, so I either fly atti, gps or RTH. Hope that helps. Gunter.
