Need an engineers help on BL-Ctrl failure

I wonder if its the other way around, The failure may have been in the control circuit feeding the fets (lost sync or other issue), and when the fets cooked up, the heat was enough to lift R25's solder pad, which may not have been the best to start with. If R25 had gotten hot (unlikely) it...

Need an engineers help on BL-Ctrl failure

sorry bart - not sure on the "holger" reference. Electric technician for 4 years, instrument tech for 13 years, did 75% of an engineering certificate in electronics, but life got in the way and never finished

Need an engineers help on BL-Ctrl failure

If R25 Fails, the FET will not switch on, R24 will keep the FET off. Phase C wont stay positive, it will only go Positive when the Fet above is turned on. Howver, it will stop the motor turning, will act as if the motor has lost a winding, and cause a massive amount of current thru the...

    SnapQuad/KK build thread.

i have found 170 watts per 1 kg thrust is a good ball park figure, some setups (low rev) are more efficient, i also know that the flycam 925's on 10 by 5 props and 3S do aprox 800 grams (tested on scales and on 4S they did just on 1.3kg (also on scales) it takes 55 watts to hover one 1kg...

    Learning FPV

Nice work, I have yet to try FPV on a multirotor, helped a friend do it last weekend, very hard to keep track of height and drift (and hes a veteran heli/3d pilot) so your second attempt is awesome ! you did well, esp flying low over the fences/barriers. Must be a kick to see yourself from the...

    Over-heating

Hi Dave, yep its 10:30 at night, and getting ready to hit the hay I dont think my esc's get over 10deg above ambient in normal operation, but the are 25 amp rated, and only operate at about 5 amps in hovering. Would I fit heat sinks ? if my temps were getting over 40-50 deg , yes, as with...

    Over-heating

Rule of thumb for electronics is 80 deg C max, basically if you cant hold your finger on it for 2 seconds its too hot, for motors , 60 deg or so is the max (magnets start to break down above 80-100 dep on mfg)
