    World's Most Overpriced Multi

Prop wash! Turbulence! You must be kidding! They are using wire rope isolaters to shield the gimbal from prop resonation. If they actually knew what they were doing, they could hard mount the gimbal to the airframe. Stang is right - huge waste of money when equivalent, lower cost options are...

    World's Most Overpriced Multi

Looking at this video the stability of this $50K+ multi looks pretty sad. Looks like the perfect purchase for someone with more money than brains. I heard they just sold one in the U.S. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQdM0IgzwCc

Brushless steadicams for real heli use.......any experience?

The jiggles are no problem whatsoever. If the wind forces get too great, it will stall the motors.

Brushless steadicams for real heli use.......any experience?

Its in my plans to film with our Movi from an R44 but i have been too busy getting it fitted to our super heavy lift heli. The feedback from others who have done so say it works really well as long as you keep it out of the slipstream.

    Crash into crowd

Most are flying hobby grade components built under minimal quality standards. I have over 30 years professional RC experience and until a month ago hadn't had a crash in 10 years with an AP rig and I won't fly over crowds, ever, and I have a lot of faith in my equipment and skills. It is not...

    Crash into crowd

These "Dudes" seriously need to stop flying over large crowds. This is the third video they have posted flying directly over large crowds/events. http://vimeo.com/71525049

Caught on camera, multirotor crashes into crowd at Great Bull Run

Don't confuse flying skill with operating safely. Certainly skill is an asset but overconfidence can lead to unwise risk taking. I catch myself regularly thinking "I could probably get away with that". When I have those thoughts my next thought is always "what is to be gained verses lost?"...

Caught on camera, multirotor crashes into crowd at Great Bull Run

1:37, 1:42, 1:51 and the worst 3:00 directly over the large crowd. As a professional RC pilot for the last 30 years I would have declined to do all of those shots.

Caught on camera, multirotor crashes into crowd at Great Bull Run

Yes it is....good enough for event promoters and production company's to insist on flights over crowds and pilots following suit and willing to comply. The future doesn't bode well if this continues.

I predict these jokers will be the next in the news - Drone Dudes http://vimeo.com/72421820

    MOVI on over.

Is Colibri available to purchase right now?

    MOVI on over.

What are the similarities/differences between this and the Movi? Does it have a single operator mode?

    MōVI shipping

At this stage of the game it is just about impossible to make an apples to apples intelligent comparison of capabiliites/limitations between the few serious gimbals available for "pre-order".

    MōVI shipping

Is there any footage of the Colibri using 100mm glass?

Caught on camera, multirotor crashes into crowd at Great Bull Run

It's kind of like taking a tour of a hospital and having a nurse say: "We've been pretty good about not dropping newborn babies"

    Selling the fleet

Don't sell, just rent your stuff out. Add a nice nondisclosure/liability clause and your all set! There are tons of production companies with deep pockets out there. Sure people will get hurt but life is dangerous, wear a helmet!

    Selling the fleet

I have to admit that the ole RCAP business plan looks about as promising as building a coal fired power plant about now. Not getting out completely yet but making a course correction for sure.

Attack on the drones, is shooting with a drone camera legal?

To have flown in TV and film, the author doesn't know much about the history of unmanned aerial filming. Emmanuel Previnaire started Flying Cam back in the late 80's using modified Eyemo film cameras.

    Aerial Photography/Video Cost

There are many with the same thoughts you have. What most don't understand is that once the regulations are in place, it is very, very unlikely your equipment investment and business will be permitted to operate legally. Powerful forces are lobbying for requirements that are estimated at several...

    Welcome to RC Shutter

One of these worked for about a month and died suddenly. The second one died after about 3 months, also in the middle of a job. Very disappointing.
