Hoverfly Unable to setup 4.3.802. Setup Client 1.5.0.60 not available

VM-6 hexa rebuilt. Reflashed 4.3.802... yes it was raining but I had to test it. Yup... a standard boring very nice copter again. Throttle wasn't twitchy... very nice. No trim change required. now all I need is the rain to stop and the Met Service to remove the severe thunderstorm warning...

Hoverfly Unable to setup 4.3.802. Setup Client 1.5.0.60 not available

I also bought the Skyline... and it sits there and twitches occasionally and rolls when I'm yawing. Once I build my new mount (mine got smashed with the RX100 thanks to 4.6r2), I need to get the RSGS perfectly straight - it has very small tolerances I suspect. Great in the lab... but in the...

Hoverfly Unable to setup 4.3.802. Setup Client 1.5.0.60 not available

Thanks David I removed the 4.6 client completely and the old client installed - happy now. I'm rolling back to 4.3.802. I don't use the OSD voltage and I have 2 bad smashes on two machines despite 60 minutes of testing on each. I understand the tolerances/sweet-spot are smaller on 4.62r but I...

Hoverfly Unable to setup 4.3.802. Setup Client 1.5.0.60 not available

But after the setup program (418k) comes in and you try to run it, I get "Application cannot be started. Contact the application vender" Is the 418k all the program or does it then download the full client off the server?

Hoverfly Unable to setup 4.3.802. Setup Client 1.5.0.60 not available

I want to roll back to 4.3.802 and while I have flashed the board, I need the old Setup Client... which isn't available. Any secrets I don't know about? Pete

Can I get a little soldering advice?

Heat up the blob and it will probably stick to your iron - remove so you can start fresh. Re-tin the wire with fresh solder, re-tin the pad with fresh solder. Hold the wire onto the pad and (with some fresh solder on the iron) heat the wire. It will melt the solder on the wire and the pad and...

    Do you name your copter?

Apparently, my wife Helen says that when I have lost a machine during AP (3 radio failures on Trex camera-ships... thanks Specktrum) and I have called out Helen - not like she could do anything about it. Well last Saturday my hexa flipped smashing my new camera on the pavement... and I didn't...

This could be a game changer

As a diy'r with heli aero experience... I would like to see the finer points. In theory, this has been possible for ages. It is the fine tuning / smooth transition stuff that was always going to be an issue. Hopefully we see some real details soon... Pete

    Hoverfly NEW AH on 4.6r2

I am hovering at just under 50%. My machine flew like it was on rails in up to 30Km winds with 4.3.802. I have gone from low gain to really high gain settings. It has never appeared as stable as it used to. On Friday night in a 5km wind, I was flying slowy forward at 2' when I switched to...

Are we all in for a Kicking - Death of Civilian UAV's?

I have been discussing the UAS future in New Zealand with our CAA and depsite continuous nagging / requesting (over the last 2 years), they are rolling out a UAS "policy" where one certification covers all. The only line in the sand is a 25Kg over/under benchmark. Whether I am flying LOS...

    Hoverfly NEW AH on 4.6r2

I would like to see others AH gains too. I thought I had the AL gain sorted... I have done 45 minutes of test flying with 4.6r2 and it has never seemed as stable in descent or the wind as 4.3.802. During a gentle straight-down descent yesterday morning, my VM-6 started pitch oscillations 4m...

Non-destructive funny / bad photo shoots... what went wrong... Time to share

I'm starting this for a laugh. What has gone wrong in a photoshoot that you are willing to share afterwards! I back onto a park. A hot air balloon flew onto my park this morning and tethered. I asked if they minded if I flew around them... it went really well. Photos and stills - I...

    Receiver Battery pack size?

Ryan I have no experience with the kill-switch system but if you need just an independent rx battery... a basic 2S lipo + UBEC will do. An rx on its own will barely draw 50-100mA. A 2S1200 - 2S1800mA lipo would have you sorted all day - with a <100g penalty. Pete

Servo choice for RSGS guided mount

I have the Skyline fitted to my diy mount. I have an Align DS610 (same as a Savox 1258) on the roll pinion and it's great. I have a Turnigy something on the tilt and is is glitching away... so I'll replace it with another good digital servo. I can use a get another 1258 but is there a...
