Hoverfly New Hoverfly Forum is now open!!

I use the voltage OSD on the HFP but as I'm the pilot and not the videographer (and not looking at the OSD) and my r/c tx doesn't support telemetry, I use the Quanum 2.4G Telemetry unit. Cheap, and accurate monitoring of individual lipo cells (on one battery) + voltage and current usage with...

A2 EMI Flyaway Cell Tower Proximity

I have done cell tower survey test flights using Futaba 10C 2.4g and my heli and quad (HFP) and been within 5 meters of the aerial plant. The cells were on 900 and 1200meg bands. 5.8 downlink and zero glitches to the radio. I agree that the microwave dish systems can focus a very narrow...

Forum members - What's the face behind the user name?

My turn... While I've been shooting from r/c for 7 years, multis for 3, most of my work is from a 172 as a commercial charter (as legally required in NZ for commercial aerial photography). The road constructions contracts I have are best suited to a full-size... and I get some stick time to...

6S batteries Are the Expensive Ones that much better?

We have all really had a mixed bag of results. All my Nanotech failed (lost a cell, puffed) within 20 flights and this was on 7-8 minute camera flight, not a 3D heli flight. My Zippy blues 25-30C are going past 70 flight ok.

How to run multiple batteries on a quad

To do connectors, you really need a 50W minimum iron and a wet cloth to take the heat away once soldered

How to run multiple batteries on a quad

Welcome to the forum darowdon :) The batteries need to be the same number of cells and the same capacity - connected in parallel and of similar performance. red to red, black to black. Ideally identical batteries to ensure they work together evenly. The copter will draw the current evenly...

Unfortunate event as Triathlete sustains head injuries from drone

Another slant on the event here... the owner claiming that it didn't hit the athlete but she fell over and bumper her head. Not ideal! http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/wa/a/22435997/triathlete-injured-in-drone-incident/ Pete
