    Mikrokopter MK power distribution board

Craig, it sounds as though your end-of-things is solid. I have also heard 'stories' about MK board quality but I don't know if they were soldering/connection or a component issue(s). I know it would be a big call but do you know anyone nearby that would be willing to swap boards for diagnostic...

    Mikrokopter MK power distribution board

Craig, although I don't have any MK equipment, soldering is soldering. The board solder joints that you mention of, are they your joints or MKs ? Remember lead-free solder runs at a higher temperature and it is possible to hold the iron on for too long when soldering a connection resulting in...

    Mikrokopter MK power distribution board

Craig, sorry to bore you with this, but if you do all the above and you still experience the problem and, you do not own an iffy FC, etc. it can only be dry/cracked solder joints...and MK carries a lot of soldering. I have experienced solder joints problems hundreds of times over the years on...

    What camera?

It looks like you have addressed the doubts that I have...the GoPro is cheaper too. It would be interesting to see if people had the same experiences as you. Many thanks.

    Mikrokopter MK power distribution board

Craig, if you have no other single conductors going through the centre of the ring then there is no requirement to 'cut' the ring. (If a single conductor went through the ring it is possible for 'other' currents to be induced that in turn possibly effect other circuits, equipment, etc.. It is...

    Mikrokopter MK power distribution board

Craig, yes Baco-foil is kitchen foil. It does seem though that you have carried out any necessary screening already and with a top-drawer product. It just has to be then something like the move of the PPM board to fix it. I do though have to re-say my own experience with the blips where the...

    What camera?

I have not seen/noticed it on any threads on this forum but has anyone any experience of the Contour range of camera on board MR crafts ? The words from their marketing people seem to suggest that their range of cameras have all the necessary bells and wwhistles and appears to tick all the boxes...

    Mikrokopter MK power distribution board

Craig, I think you have got to do this with the move of PPM Converter to the top plate...it is relatively simple to do and try for effect soonest. Have you ever considered the screening of the cables...I was discussing this issue with a work colleague of mine who recalled a very similar problem...

    Accident reporting thread

What do you people think of someone that flies a quad on a hover time trial on a craft fully booted with two nano 500mah batts, landed it OK about 3 metres away from where it took off but did not dis-arm. As probably only I can , I switched off the transmitter at which point the craft's motors...

    Mikrokopter MK power distribution board

Craig, what is important here is not where the cables emerge from the dis. ring but the route they take to their apprpriate destination...eg...motor. The closeness of the low signal cables to the distribution cables has potential for problems...eg...the white PPM wires are near to the black...

    Mikrokopter MK power distribution board

Craig, Ross, that is some distribution net and really as good as any that can be bought. However any problems that may manifest themselves from electric currents of very different magnitudes and times are very often due to the magnetic fields that concentrically surround the coductors (wires...

DJI-M and 2 Axis Camera Mount Servos

Gary, you're servo block set up, its apparent robustness and the results you appear to be getting to-date lends itself perfectly to what I want to do. Hopefully now that DJI have shown this interest the 'glitch at neutral' problem will become resolved. I will be more than pleased if you could PM...

Negative reviews for Hobby King and HobbyWireless

Hey ! I am more than pleased. My shipment of 2 xTurnigy Nano 5000 mah batts. arrived today as informed by HK (had to pay an extra £25 to get them through customs though) and I have since tried them both in flight and balance recharged them successfully...happy days.

Negative reviews for Hobby King and HobbyWireless

IrisAerial, yes you are absolutely right...it aint a problem until it becomes a problem...don't try to fix something that aint broke.

Negative reviews for Hobby King and HobbyWireless

IrisAerial, you have got me concerned now...I've got 2 x Turnigy Nano 4s 5000mah batts. on order and supposedly for delivery over the next few days...they have cost me almost $188. If I end up returning them they will be bloody expensive batts. I hope it won't come to that.

    Mikrokopter MK power distribution board

Macsgrafs, just be sure and careful on this...I use a distribution board that seems to be exactly as you have described yours but the 'circles of copper land pattern are not broken any where...ie...they are continouos rings. I just ensure that single cables soldered to and coming off of the...

    Mikrokopter MK power distribution board

Dave, yes its called many things hence 'thingymajig'. Mag. fields and their effects are so unpredictable in these types of settings....the distribution board a centimetre further apart from where it currently sits, a single current carrying cable (conductor) routed differently, etc., etc. and lo...

    Mikrokopter MK power distribution board

Macsgrafs, a problem with current travelling along a piece of wire (or a board covered in copper) is that a magnetic field is 'created'. The strength of the mag. field is proportional to the level of current flowing...ie...a larger current will produce a bigger mag. field. A smaller current...

Help needed with DJI WKM flight times

Dave, Geoff, I've just arrived home from work...sorry about the lateness of this reply. Dave my calibrations was correct and set up to match the actual Lipo voltage metered seperately (12.65 Volts). I had the 1st warning set up for No Load = 11.1 Volts, Loss = 0.1 Volts, Loaded = 11.0 Volts /...

Help needed with DJI WKM flight times

Dave, I'm at work at this time...I will check when I get home tonight...but yes I did do the calibration and I seem to remember the 1st level battery warning set at 11.2v and the second level at 11.0v...do you think this could be my problem then ?
