Help needed with DJI WKM flight times

While I am still awaiting for the design of the landing gear for my quad to be completed I decided to make a temp one up out of locally purchased 10mm ali tube. Following a quick back-of-fag-packet design and some (dare I say) more than skillful work on my part with a pipe bender I manaqed to...

    Ouch!

What happened to Jake Bullit is good readon that we can never take our eyes off the ball when 'flying' regardless of what stage in proficiency we are at. Last week-end I had reason to change a battery (3S 3700mah) deans connector with keyed bullet connectors. My plan was to remove the existing...

Dji wkm hitec aurora 9 throttle problems

Matt, I guess then that to add any value to your thinking the forum would need to know a bit more about your craft...eg...is it a quad ? what ESCs are you using ? are they working properly ? (remember just 1 naff ESC behaving irresponsibly can cause all sorts of eratic flight issues, etc., etc..

Dji wkm hitec aurora 9 throttle problems

Matt, is the kit new ? The reason I ask this seemingly annoying question is that although I did not experience the same problems that you have described the problems that I did experience seemed eratic and so reverting back to my electrical engineering background it 'smelled' of set-up procedure...

Help with Failsafe Set up on Page 12

Rich, there are a number of steps that you will have to go through regardless of the make of radio (transmitter). Mine is a Hitec Aurora 9 but I'm pretty sure the set-up isn't any different... 1) Plug the WK-M into your PC via the USB lead and spark up the DJI Wookong application. Select the Tx...

    WooKong M Driver Download

Just to add to the discussion here I have had reason to send 3 seperate emails for 3 seperate queries on three seperate occasions over the past 2 months and have not yet received any form of response, even acknowledgement that my querie are in hand. I have also sent another, again seperate...

Do you think I made my landing gear a bit big??

Gunter, where did you have those made up ? I'm in the process of starting to make up a set of landing gear legs for my Bagherra 600 frame and possibly made up out of small ali extrusions...but if I can get something made up locally (even out of carbon) at the right price it might be an option...

    WKM Build Problems

Ken, thanks for that info...I'm gaining lots of answers and 'things' to try in response to my questions of this morning. Your response to the issue of failsafe setting within the Hitec radio now makes sense to me. I will definately attempt and reset this tonight when I get home. My WKM came with...

    WKM Build Problems

Boris, thankyou for your ' than useful' reply and comments. I'll try out you method of RTH switching but you have also reminded me that I need to wrap my head around Hitec failsafe mechanisms. I've actually got two of the Afroesc distribution boards on order from 3 weeks ago but they havn't...

    WKM Build Problems

After what seemed to be months of collecting together all the necessary parts, tools, etc. (including advice, views and ideas from this forum) I finally joined them all up with each other. I loaded and installed the most recent versions of S/W and firmware, downloaded the most recent operators...

    Gunters new octocopter build

BorneoBen, you are correct in that longer conductors mean greater electrical resistance and an effect(s) on signals when they arrive at their destination(s) but at these amplitudes with these size of conductors it really isn't too much of a problem. As for the closeness of the ESC to the Hub...

    Wookong-M on a RC-Carbon 900 mm boom

BorisS...jes1111 is absolutely right, the selection of all kit at this level and at these costs is and has to be more than a little scientific. fortunately products like ecalc are at our disposal and although I havnn't used it in depth yet I do understand that ecalc is a very useful tool for...

    Wookong-M on a RC-Carbon 900 mm boom

BorisS, as I tried to imply in my post reply there is an awful amount of 'stuff' going on in motor circuits... magnetic induction, significant electrical reactance as well as normal electrical resistance. The ESC is effectively an electronic 'interface' between the manual...

    Wookong-M on a RC-Carbon 900 mm boom

It is not always straightforward Ohms Law stuff as motor efficiencies, magnetics, induction, heat, etc. are playing their parts here. In general though if nothing changes except the voltage the current that flows in a electrical circuit is directly proportional to the applied voltage...ie...if...

    Batteries and power distribution questions

Bart, thankyou for that...I guess it will have to be something like your loop design...it is relatively easy to put together and I can build it to an exact fit...it also isn't that far removed from pre-manufactured power distribution boards from..eg...MK, ArduCopter, etc.. The Wookong-W kit...

    Batteries and power distribution questions

Gunter, hey Tadley is only around 15 miles or so from where I live in Hook (just outside of B'stoke). Great idea to meet up with you guys to compare notes, etc. but don't expect too much from me...I'm fairly new to all this rotary wing stuff and at the beginning of a very steep learning curve...

    Batteries and power distribution questions

I am in the midst of putting 4 Axi 2814/22 motors/Turnigy 30A Plush ESC combination onto a Bagheera 600 airframe and driven by a Wookong-M FC. In the absence of any (sound and/or unsound) advice that I can get locally what batterie(s) should I use for this setup ? I am aware of the voltage...

    Choice of ESC

Can someone help me out here ? I am in the process of matching up and purchasing kit to build what I believe will be a fairly reputable quadcopter that will more than meet my current needs of AP but also give me some scope for future development(FPV, etc.). I have on order a Bagheera 600...
