    Zenmuse z15n Testing (S800)

I didn't read their "take the chance" advertising line as "take the risk" but rather "take the opportunity". Big difference ;-) The performance is undoubtedly good - but I'm still waiting for a clear and unambiguous explanation as to what the "no zoom lens" issue is all about. If this...

    Zenmuse z15n Testing (S800)

Impressive! What's the inside story on the "no zoom lens" story? Can you try it and show us the results?

    Stabilized lenses on stabilized platforms

Apparently it can run even deeper than that, Denny. Allegedly, some of the in-lens systems do not physically lock the floating lens element when the system is switched "off" so that movement (particularly vibration) can mess things up. I have no idea whether the Sony 18-55 kit zoom has this...

Photo Higher's new website is up!

This is a new bit of info (to me): So, in many (most?) cases, it will need its own dedicated 5S supply.

ESC high frequency fear uncertainty and doubt

And then there's the issue of position: on the arms, in the fuselage, length of wires (battery to ESC and ESC to motor), etc. My research has lead me to conclude that it's best to have the shortest possible run from battery to ESC, therefore mounting them in the fuselage. Also, I believe...

Z15 need a NEX fixed lens

Eh? Now I'm confused - who's talking against whom now? The only diversion from the core topic of this thread is you, Denny, talking about Cineflex and artistry ;-)

Z15 need a NEX fixed lens

I understand what you're suggesting, Denny - but the Sony 18-55 lens changes it's length by about 12mm (I just looked it up!). If the mount cannot cope with that tiny amount of mass moving by that tiny distance (relative to the total mass of the camera and the pitch axis itself)... well, then...

    Distro boards

When building a power harness, just bring a single line out to a suitable "aux power" socket/tail. From that socket/tail you can feed all your present/future peripheral power needs, via a custom "sub-harness", a custom "aux power distribution board" or whatever. For example, a tiny piece of...

Z15 need a NEX fixed lens

Really odd! Jello is caused by vibration. Also, the lens could indeed "zoom itself" if it was subject to vibration. Neither problem is related (directly) to CoG. Are they tacitly admitting that their vibe isolation doesn't actually work? Are they conceding that the CoG adjustment range is...

Z15 need a NEX fixed lens

Farcical! Have they actually stated that it's a weight/balance issue? It might be an observed problem with the in-lens stabilisation on certain lenses - which would be tantamount to an admission that their vibration isolation doesn't work ;)

    Distro boards

Nothing ;) Most of the time I think they are a "solution looking for a problem".
