What do you want from your Flight Control company??

Good list! I'm going to mention a name, but it should be obvious that I have no commercial motive :) - the OpenPilot Project has a similar (possibly longer) goal list with one or two very significant additions: like "lowest cost possible" and "open source". The (aptly named) OP Revolution was...

    XAircraft New xAircraft TagV6 Multicopter

I agree it is an interesting machine - from the point of view of the physical frame layout it is pretty close to "ideal" (which is why Asctec patented it, I guess): it presents the minimum possible side surface area for the wind to disturb it and has the best possible moments of inertia (when...

    XAircraft New xAircraft TagV6 Multicopter

The V layout is patented (comprehensively) by Ascending Technologies - and I suspect they'll defend it aggressively. So even if they can't shut down production in China they'll undoubtedly jump on anyone who sets up as a dealer and probably also anyone who tries to use one commercially.

cameras with live preview out function

Remember that, at least for Nikon and Canon cameras, remote LiveView does not provide a video feed but rather a stream of lo-res JPGs - therefore there is a delay (and a low effective framerate) that would, I'm sure, create difficulties for FPV use.

    Flexacopter ---The Making Of---

You can dye nylon parts yourself - just use a household clothing dye that's suitable for artificial fabrics. Obviously you can only go darker than the current colour - so black should be no problem.

Boca bearings upgrades for Tiger(Avroto) motors.

Can you see any markings on the bearings? My MT4008's came already fitted with EZO EMQ-rated bearings, made in Japan. My bearing supplier (a miniature bearing specialist in UK) tells me there is nothing better for the job.

NAB PhotoHigher, Droidworx, DJI Short Review with a few PICS

Hi Boris, I meant the alu plates on this mount:

NAB PhotoHigher, Droidworx, DJI Short Review with a few PICS

I'm still trying to work out what the function is of those machined aluminium pieces rearward of the camera plate on the new PH gimbal. Does anyone know? Also, I understand it is using direct drive BLDC motors? - are they sourced from DJI? (The DJI setup looks similar.)

    Camera mount servo jerks....

Can you post some video? "Jerks" is a loose description - not really possible to tell if it's a mechanical issue or a signal issue.

    Little Guidence...

Boom length won't affect lift (except by making the craft heavier) - it will affect "responsiveness", i.e. bigger equals more sluggish. In general, you should be choosing your prop size (based on lift requirement), plus a motor to suit it and then deciding how long the arms need to be to give...

    Solder and Wire Gauge

40W iron (you can never have too much power, unless you're doing SMD perhaps). Interchangeable tips is a great idea - get at least small pointy one and one blunt (screwdriver) one. Regular 60/40 solder - the "exotics" are trickier to solder with. The "no clean" flux is a good idea but "best...

A new camera to play with

Very interesting - but don't forget you need a recorder, too. Do you know how much the IndiePOV is? Not publishing the price on their website says to me that they are embarrassed about it ;-)

    Gunters NEW hexacopter build

I'm building a small board to handle eight motors through two BTS555 switches in parallel. Power feed onto the board is from multiple Anderson 45A connectors soldered straight on (1 per battery, up to 4) using their High Current PCB Contacts. The board is a sheet of 1.6mm FR4 with a sheet of...

    best high power connectors

Anderson PowerPole 45A (with High Detent Contacts) is my choice. "Unsoldered themselves" - ROFL :D

    Reliable products for AP?

Crimp: the kind of wire connection where you crush the wire inside a metal tube or U-shape using special pliers - surprisingly, more reliable than solder because not affected by vibration. I wouldn't worry about 4S vs. 5S - I've found the differences to be minimal when there's eight motors. See...
