Boca bearings upgrades for Tiger(Avroto) motors.

I'm consistently mystified by this "Tiger bearings suck" thing every time it comes up. Whilst it's possible, I suppose, that they are fake EZO bearings I just can't understand the bad rap they're getting. I have been reliably informed (by a specialist miniature bearing distributor in UK) that...

    Wire sizes help please.....

Ah - I see. 100A max down each branch. I'd say 10AWG will be fine, assuming you're not going to fly around on full throttle all day, right? ;-)

    Mikrokopter Fan solution for BL-Ctrl 2.0 ?

Glad the fan's doing the job. Similar problems here in Portugal - for my normal photography I have one of those small pushchair umbrellas that clips onto the tripod to shade the camera. Why do they always make "pro" gear black? Still impossible to get hold of, but the new CC3D has better/newer...

    Zenmuse Manual/control software now up

I agree the performance is great so long as you can live with the limitations. What I was referring to is all the stuff in the manual about "set the camera to manual mode - don't use auto anything - video is not currently supported" etc.

Eh? The dongle is a software copy protection device - it won't run without it. If you buy the software legitimately you get the dongle in the box. If you download the software (from anywhere) and buy the Chinese dongle you are stealing from Phoenix because you are using their software without...

    Flight sims

Exactly! There is no difference - "intellectual property" can be PC software or ESC/FC firmware or the design of an MR/gimbal/ESC, etc. You are "stealing" from the originators. Guess you'd feel differently about it if you were an originator of any intellectual property ;-)

    Zenmuse Manual/control software now up

Yep - and, on first read, it seems to create more new questions than it answers.

I'm surprised that people openly condone/encourage theft of intellectual property on this forum.

    Mikrokopter Fan solution for BL-Ctrl 2.0 ?

I haven't tried a fan myself, but I very much doubt that it will create enough airflow to make a significant difference. From your pic it looks like the ESCs are arranged in a circle around the core, so you could make an aluminium heatsink that projects out into free air - the more surface area...

Sorry, you'll need to explain that a bit better. Maybe a diagram?

    Trouble with APC 13X6.5

:-) Okay, I see where you're coming from. But, on the flip-side, APC is very specific on their website about the RPM limit and the dangers of exceeding it. So I remain unconvinced by your argument. Just a thought - in the development of your (very interesting) craft, which came first: your...

    Trouble with APC 13X6.5

KopterX - "cryptic" is the not exactly the word I was thinking - more like "self-contradictory" ;-) You say APC SF props are "impossible to balance", to the extent that you need to change the bearings in your motors regularly due to the increased wear. So you're saying they vibrate badly. But...

    Trouble with APC 13X6.5

I haven't used them simply because I wouldn't try. In terms of manufacturer-supplied usage guidelines, it's one of the few existing examples in this sector so to ignore it is, IMO, just...well...dumb ;-) Another example of "I've seen a guy on YouTube doing it so it must be okay"? ;-) On a very...

    Trouble with APC 13X6.5

Yep - and probably about 40% CF and 60% resin, too!

    Trouble with APC 13X6.5

ah! that makes sense - cheap pultruded CF can be remarkably poor in torsion. Not all CF is created equal. There's a number of different ways to form a tube of reinforced carbon fibre. The cheapest way is pultruded which involves pulling straight fibres through a resin bath and then through a die...
