Flugtest mit dem Aibot X6 - Teil 1

I've merged and Google-translated the six threads (presented below). My own thoughts in a subsequent post.

Mikrokopter Currents on left side BL of an octo are lower then on right side

To identify/isolate any possible issues you really need to follow a "process of elimination". Your initial hypothesis is that it's a left/right issue - you need to test that by swapping ESCs and/or motors to other positions to see if the temperature condition follows that movement or remains in...

Code of Conduct for UAS Operators

The AUVSI (Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International) has just published a "Code of Conduct". Please, everybody, read it - even if you are not using RC vehicles commercially.

    Locals arrested for flying drones

I've just started a new thread called "Code of Conduct for UAS Operators". I reckon it's so important that everyone reads it - I didn't want it to get lost within this thread.

    Battery advice?

You mean "parallel" not "series". Two 5000mAh 3S in series would give you a 5000mAh 6S. Two in parallel makes a 10000mAh 3S. :)

So happy now that I know my nuts won't fall off

To my mind there are no surprises here. The APC props are made of nylon - a fantastically tough polymer. "Carbon-filled" anything must use a more "rigid" resin (of one sort or another) to have any chance of seeing the benefit of the carbon fill - and that very rigidity means its going to be...

DJI Zenmuse gimbal and S800 Spreading Wings preorder

Yep - not the best lens around, but it can be much improved using DxO Optics Pro which will automatically correct the distortion, CA, vignetting, etc. I've been using DxO for years (in fact I'm a beta tester for them) to correct such issues with Nikon and Canon lenses - even the so-called "pro"...

DJI Zenmuse gimbal and S800 Spreading Wings preorder

I'm assuming that DJI have used the correct type of silicone for the job ;-) (if indeed it is silicone). At any rate, I assume it's on there for vibration protection as well as heat dissipation.

Droidworx frame motor heat sinks being made.

I realise you may have good reasons for choosing this route - but it seems to me the wrong way to tackle the problem. If the motors are getting so hot that they need that kind of cooling then surely they are being driven way past their rated capacity? Providing additional cooling may only help...

DJI Zenmuse gimbal and S800 Spreading Wings preorder

Re: the ESC heat issue - silicone is actually a good conductor of heat, so as long as air can circulate (the spacers sound like a good idea) then it might actually help dissipate the heat.
