Wired Magazine cover and article about drones

You steal Open Source work by using it without complying with the terms under which it is offered. Common examples would be "Full Attribution" and "Share-alike". Chris Anderson is all about self-promotion and personal profit. He thinks he invented the word "free" and is therefore entitled to...

WooKong-M enhanced flight algorithm – Coming Soon !

It does a 5 metre circle around the POI, right? Fixed at 5m? So do you have to judge that you're 2.5m from the POI before flicking the switch?

I believe the wind stability thing is related to there being four columns of fast-moving air rather eight. Each of these columns represents a sort of "resistance" to disturbing wind. The entire question of redundancy is a tricky one - so many variables in play. What can't be denied is that the...

WooKong-M enhanced flight algorithm – Coming Soon !

This doesn't make any sense to me. Analogue servos should never be driven with any frequency except 50Hz - period! Digital servos will always accept 333Hz, but not 400Hz. I doubt it would damage them (like analogue over 50Hz) but it may well confuse them. So why 50>100>200>400Hz? Seems like an...

So happy now that I know my nuts won't fall off

Ah! I see now! And you're in Europe (by the time you quote) - so the UK link for Misumi is the relevant one for you. Misumi are not cheap (and it's a bit of a pain setting up an account) but it's a very convenient source for those "special" parts. Is the 8mm shoulder exactly 8mm? Try here...

I'm still confused about the "8mm washer" part!?

So happy now that I know my nuts won't fall off

So the Graupner prop has an 8mm bore? with an adapter for it to fit on an M6 motor mount? The flange of an M6 flanged nut (nyloc or otherwise) is 14.2mm diameter. Would that be big enough? Otherwise, you could go with a "washer", but actually what you need is a "shim" (sometimes called a...

So happy now that I know my nuts won't fall off

    I'm confused - you're saying 8mm, but an M8 nut is 13mm across the flats (i.e. uses a 13mm wrench). A 10mm wrench means it's an M6 nut.

So happy now that I know my nuts won't fall off

Sounds like you need a "flanged nut": http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=flanged+nut&meta= Or are you wanting something that's bigger "across the flats". You shouldn't, in the sense that metric hardware is carefully sized so that the wrench size is correct fr applying the correct range of...

Wired Magazine cover and article about drones

Errmm... no - not a "nice" article at all. An ego-laden, self-promotional distortion of reality - yes. See the topmost comment after the article - "Jeremy Esland" - that's me ;-) That man is one of the most unpleasant characters in this "business". DIY Drones steals open source work from...

Off topic but... that second video leads to a website called onlyflyingmachines.com - which makes one of the dumbest mistakes that a shop site can make: where the f*** is it? China? Singapore, Greenland? And the prices - "$": is that US dollars, Canadian, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australian, etc...

Flugtest mit dem Aibot X6 - Teil 1

Apart from the odd multi-thread, I find this very interesting. He appears to be a photographer wanting to fly a 5DMkII and prepared to spend good money on a good solution. Significantly he appears to have little knowledge of RC or multirotors. As such, he represents the "next market" for AP MRs...
