    Tarot Hexacopter 680 build

I still need to sort out how I'm going to mount the batteries and set my radio up better but everything is working.

It's not a very good shot, but it gives you an idea of what I have going on

    Tarot Hexacopter 680 build

Yes, actually, I have the whole thing put together and did my first motor test with props on the other day. I have been so busy building that I have forgotten to update here. I'm pretty happy with the results and it seems to have a ridiculous amount of power tethered to 2 cinder-blocks in...

MultiWii / NAZE / SP Racing F3 APM 2.6 power module with UBEC?

Thanks Mike! I have a UBEC and expect I'll need it down the line, but for now I'll just get it hooked up and motors spinning. I appreciate the help!

MultiWii / NAZE / SP Racing F3 APM 2.6 power module with UBEC?

Thanks for reading and sorry if this question is already out there, I haven't found it. I'm building a hex powered by the APM 2.6 and I'm running 6 40A ESC http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009NP4RDY I have read here...

DJI F450 Naza mount w/ Velcro

ProPilot is correct, you'll need to change the height in the software. That's what I would do, if you are removing the GPS frequently you might as well mount it lower where you can just leave it there.

DJI F450 Naza mount w/ Velcro

I would second the concern about a wobbly GPS, Mine is fine because I am not using the little pole. I have the GPS mounted directly on the arm with Velcro and it feels really secure. I didn't like the little pole mount on first site and tossed it aside never to look back. Pseudopod, why don't...

DJI F450 Naza mount w/ Velcro

That GPS location works great, I'm using 10" props and they barely go over the GPS. There might be a 1/4" of prop directly over the edge of the antenna, 8" props would give it plenty of room to breath. Thanks for the complement on my set-up! Truthfully I would hard mount the GPS if it wasn't...

DJI F450 Naza mount w/ Velcro

I was actually aiming that last post @ Pseudopod, you're pretty on point with your comments. I haven't had the GPS come loose but, I did fly under a big awning at a hotel in GPS mode. I expect that I had the equivalent failure, the copter went crazy and crashed. I would like to make a slightly...

DJI F450 Naza mount w/ Velcro

I was speaking of the the actual Naza flight controller. I still have my GPS antenna mounted with Velcro. I travel quite a bit and find myself resetting Magnetic declination like 2 times a month. I haven't had a single issue with the antenna being mounted with Velcro, i just check that it is...

    Tarot Hexacopter 680 build

I'm well into the process of building my first Hex. So far I have.. Tarot Iron-man 680 hex frame (all carbon version) APM 2.6 with ublox and telemetry 9 ch Spektrum rx to match my Dx7s (9 ch was cheap online) a 10A Bec (not sure if I'll need it, or what for, but I needed something similar...

DJI F550 with Spektrum AR8000 and Spektrum DX8 Controller need help

I second what glacier said, Failsafe isn't a bonuse, it's the most important feature. Without failsafe I would have lost my little finger chopper 3-4 times already. You must play around with it to get the failsafe setting working reliably. You want the 3 position gps/atti/fail, so when you...

Best Placement for Naza GPS on DJI F550?

I use "0" My battery is top mounted so the CG is actually at the top plate. If you battery is bottom mounted the CG will be lower and you will have to use a negative number. You can pick your Quad up by one corner and see how it hangs to make a guess at CG relation to the top plate.

    DJI naza F450 build

Thanks for the info Shaun, I knew the point about the directional signal, I keep Tx and Rx antennas basically horizontal as I tend to fly high. Actually, until I installed a device I like to call "Mr. Rubber Band" my antenna used to start horizontal then vibrate to strait down. I...

    DJI naza F450 build

Ama, I couldn't really catch the errors your having but I'll throw a touch of terribly uneducated advice out. First did you run through all the calibrations in the software? also, I know that spektrum receivers don't fit well with the naza connector plugs, did you check that you don't have...

My first quad - DJI Flame Wheel F450 FPV build

Are the rubber bands helping? I have the same setup basically and the vibration through the gimble gives me bad jello effect. I have a single rubberband on there now but it barely makes a difference. For the Drift, make sure your IMU is calibrated on a really level surface, then look up...

Best Placement for Naza GPS on DJI F550?

I have done the same thing on my F450, mounted it on the forward right arm. I used Velcro because I travel a bit and have to reset Declination frequently. No issues and it is safe in a crash.
