    A near disaster

And she flies fine without the gimbal? Is a gimbal on this frame a new addition? It could be a dampening problem on the gimbal, but it could also be a dampening problem with FC with the weight of the gimbal if it is a new addition or even the FC reaction to having the dampened weight. Two...

    Cheerson CX-20 Engine Problems

I am not sure if it would be possible to do a ESC calibration but that could generate a problem similar to that. I don't have any experience with that system, but if the ESC was out of calibration it may not be getting the proper throttle signal to allow arming. So start there. Otherwise, I...

    Drone Nationals 16

Anyone trying to watch this on ESPN 3? The feed is horrible but I don't think it is on my end. Did ESPN under estimate the number of people wanting in on this?

    SP Racing F3

Loose nut on the controller, went full throttle half way through a flip and shot it straight into the ground. Battery smashed the top plate and vTx into the flight controller. Flight controller still works but is a little bowed down the center axis.

    Question about battery chargers

Maybe one of these days, I will get enough time to try and do a test that is controlled to say that the charge rate is actually affecting the life of the battery. There are quite a few other things that go into battery life: cell quality, discharge rates, discharge temperate, over discharge...

    Question about battery chargers

And that is how I ended up with a Honda EU2000 generator. Just multi purpose the generator to back up for the house sump pump and you can get it through without the wife saying another drone part!

Want to build an F450 (first time). Parts?

In theory, a 3300 mah pack will give you about 2600 mah or about 80%, going beyond that can damage a pack. It will vary from pack to pack, I have a 1500 mah that I charged 1495 mah back in, resting voltage was 3.50ish. 3.70 volts per cell I believe is considered a good rest voltage for a...

Want to build an F450 (first time). Parts?

Sounds like about everything, get it in the air yet? Which kit? Depending on return policy they might work with you on adjusting price especially if their policy allows you to currently return it. Suppose it doesn't hurt to ask. If you are new to lipos as well, charge them in lipo safe bags...

    Question about battery chargers

To answer your original question on 12 volt supply to a 25.2 volt battery, no problem. The only downside is that it may reduce max watts of chargers. A 1000 watt charger might have a hard limit of 400 watts if you can only provide 12v from say a car battery. In another battery thread, I posted...

    Battery Charger

Hope this upload works. So depending how many batteries you end up with or how you want to use the charger, there are some differences. For a single battery, Dynamite C3010 is pretty darn good for the money. The Dynamite C2050 beats a CellPro PL6 running at 300 watts while doing (4) batteries...

    Battery Charger

If you get a chance, you can always give it a try. In my case, My TP610 is capable of "class leading 10 amps." What I don't think they make clear is that the hard limit of 80 watts still applies. I wanted to fast charge a 3s lipo that was rated for up to a 10 amp charge. Did some quick...

    Battery Charger

It is a balance you need to pick, and best choice will have a lot to do with money that you can put into the charger and how much time you got. And don't get me wrong, any of these chargers should be safe. The safety I am talking about is only in how a person is using it and being there to...

    Please help

Headless mode would goof me up to no end because while it might be simpler to start on, it's override control orientation. The multirotors left is no longer its left. Insert sailor terms here. Just depends what you want out of your flying. Self Level, Headless, & Altitude Hold can all help you...

    Battery Charger

I am not saying you guys cannot use a 80 watt per channel charger on a 10-12,000 mah battery. All I am saying is consider safety. If a charge takes 3 hours, that is 3 hours you should be near the charger and also 3 hours for something to happen that causes you to forget the battery is charging...

    Battery Charger

Watts is Volts x Amps It may charge when you tell it to go at 6 amps but it cannot be putting 6 amps in that voltage. That depends on the charger, how it reacts to overloading the channel. On the other hand my TP610 AC will just error out if the voltage and amps exceeds the limit, about 80...

    Question about battery chargers

That math does not work for 80 watt channel at 5 amps. It might let you set 5 amps but at 80 watt per channel you are short watts. 4 batteries at even the nominal 3.7 volts would need 444 watts, at 4.0 volts per cell your power is up to 480 watts out of a 320 watt charger?

    battery flight time question

If the frame can handle the bigger battery, I like one battery from a wiring standpoint. Just less connections, less chance of trouble. If cog or frame constraints on size require two batteries to get above 4000 mah, there you go. If your comfortable with the wiring, I know of no real pitfalls...
