What is your current draw in hover now? Moto is right, I was going to suggest the same thing. One thing, .9 is kinda low and might cause tipping issue on takeoff. If I remember right default gains out of the box were 1.1 straight across.

    T-motor ESC's heavily filtered?

I'm surprised know one is using the Castle phoenix edge HV regular or light in the 120 amp model. Would be my 1st choice if tmotors 80's are running that hot.

It still won't act normal in manual mode either. Gyro's still come into play. Best way to check, with props REMOVED in manual mode. Set the throttle at 50% and lift her up and tilt her on all axises. Whatever motors you tilt toward the ground will rev trying to level itself.

KDE doesn't even spec the 515's with 15's, let alone triple 15's. 14's on a 6s, on a hex is 23.1 lbs thrust at 62%.

That's a lot of weight for those motors, even with 6S power. Triple 15's is to big. I think you will see massive improvement with 14's. While your changing the props check your CG and make sure the motors are perfectly level. My AUW 2360g. on a 4S7000mah.

No, but I am running the same motors you are with 14's. Log was in my driveway with up and down drafts tossing it around.

You need to get your motor outputs within 5%, and also try smaller props. I found the SuperX doesn't like it below 45% in hover. Kloner posted awhile back to set the gain channel throws at +30 and -30 with an offset that gets you at 20% when the gain knob is centered. That's how I have mine, and...

I have 14 months with the Taranis and the SuperX, and haven't had any issues. It just works! Can't imagine flying anything without telemetry. This is coming from someone who would only use Futaba for the last 30 years or more.

Hot and puffy lipo after flight test- do I have correct C rating?

Hot and puffy because you ran them to low! Never below 3.6 volts under load.

    YEAIR - Combustion Engined QuadroCopter

Even with the OS GT-60 gas engines at 6 hp each wide open would need two and a half quarts of fuel to run 8 min. "A 600cc tank will provide 12~13 minutes flight. (With full throttle, it will provide 7~8 minutes flight.)"
