    Flying with others...tips and peeves

+1. Always made sure I parked at the end of the parking lot. The Ryobi I have was never loud enough to get back to the crowd.

I would imagine MW or APM would be the first places that would happen. It's a wild idea - but one I will let the young dudes take first crack at!

    Flying with others...tips and peeves

Firing up a safe distance is another good one. I also feel it's good form to make sure you have everything you need for charging batteries - so you don't need to burden others. Have everything you need for charging at the field (or enough batteries for as many flights as you want to...

Really? That would be a giant leap forward and have to be tied into the FC. That's a tech if be interested in learning about - and never trying myself! :)

    Flying with others...tips and peeves

I flew with some 3D guys, but considering I never had any idea where they were headed - didn't really help. @Bartman youre probably looking for frequency issues etc? Some of these guys I flew with were on 72, so I guess that counts a little....except I never owned transmitter that old :)

Headtracking is the ability for the camera to follow the movement of your....head :). There is a sensor on he goggles and the camera allows you to look around up in the air. Neat idea - but again, I want the camera to show me exactly where the craft is pointing, and at which angle so I know how...

Carbon Fiber "H" Style Quad Build

I have flown FPV, and while I understand your point about judging altitude/attitude, it was not easy on the camera I had, and I often worry I'm plummeting toward the ground :) I'm sure you'll figure out what works best. Just keep it a safe distance up and you should be fine to recover if things...

Carbon Fiber "H" Style Quad Build

I'm not sure it's the best idea to try to fly FPV with a camera articulating on the gimbal. You need to be aware of the attitude of the craft to be able to properly control what's happening. I believe there are even some gimbals that have an "FPV" mode that stop movement for this use.

    Flying with others...tips and peeves

This may not be exactly what you're looking for - but most of my flying with others has been done at my old local AMA field, of which I was the only MR pilot. Flying in a group of all (or mostly) fixed wing planes can be challenging, since their standard flight path typically involves flying...

That's the best bet. Cheap enough to have spares.

    DJI Inspire 1 Pro against GH4 - 4K videos

@Sleepy when did you get the Inspire??? I knew you had the Phantom 3. But I missed the Inspire purchase. How are you comparing it to the Phantom 3?

    Is this setup junk

You should be fine. You mentioned 1 hour which would probably be pushing it.

    Is this setup junk

Keep in mind that you will not be running down the battery to zero, so your estimates will be a bit off. You're probably looking at under an hour for the batteries, but you'll have to power everything up to see for sure.

    Is this setup junk

The low discharge should not be an issue for your ground gear. At 2500mah it should last a while - and hopefully not add too much unwanted weight if you're strapping it to your headset :). I think the common goggles/headset batteries are a good deal smaller/lighter than 2500mah. Maybe...

I Thought Gemfan Was Supposed To Be Good Props

+1. Wish I could try some larger ones. Unfortunately, the wood props they came out with were nowhere near the quality of their composite props.

You're probably right. But my idea was far more sinister and intriguing :)

Alta Price goes UP - A LOT.... $11,995.00 WHAT?!?!?!

I saw the drop in M5 price in a B&H sales email. I figured they may be moving toward a more competitive price now that other companies are getting good feedback in a similar segment of the market (Gremsy, Ronin Lite etc). Perhaps they feel the Alta is still in a class of its own - and warrants...
