how many of you has had this experience with A2 2.2?

BTW Tahoe Ed or someone else...... If the IMU calibration values are within the specified limits as per the A2 manual, is it still important to do the advanced IMU calibration when upgrading fw from 2.2 to 2.3? That is the only items I skipped when upgrading from 2.2 to 2.3.

how many of you has had this experience with A2 2.2?

FW 2.3 works just fine for me..... so far! I would be inclined to move forward with fw upgrades in the case of the A2.

    Faulty motor !?

Looks like shoddy workmanship on those motors..... Bell casting looks faulty and there is likely some run-out on the bell which typically cannot be fixed easily. Please let us know the name brand and the supplier so we can all avoid falling into the same situation.

    DJI naza wobbling

In the process of trying to optimize an MR design for maximum airtime, even ECalc cannot predict when inherent wobbles cannot be dialed with gains control. Your's is simply a situation where the motors lack the necessary torque to respond fast enough to FC controls. The motors lack the needed...

    GoPro Hero 4?

There is a claim by GoPro that they adjusted the focus for all the newer released batches such that there is no longer a need to turn the lens. I tried per a Youtube video but gave up..... couldn't get the lens to turn and it also voids the warranty. Maybe I will pick up the older GoPro3 Black...

Tarot Iron Man 1000 with RC Large Timer brushless Gimbal

I prefer the 3 point landing gear over the retracting landing gear concept and it looks like you are using the Cinestar landing gear system with the 3rd axis motor connected to the bottom of the MR frame..... smart!

Wookong M GPS Mode - Fair Warning

I assisted a friend in upgrading his SuperX with higher amp ESCs etc. I worked 100% in all our test flights..... Then he took it out to a job site, took it up to 300 feet and all motors shutdown! Now I am working the the remains trying to determine the root cause. There was not continuity or...

Time for a new copter.... But which one?

I bought the Cinestar Octocopter frame at a great price here: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/H001-Free-shipping-by-DHL-Fedex-8-Axis-Octocopter-frame-kit-without-motors/1013825004.html While it does not fold up for transportation I remain very impressed with the quality and design that went in...

Tethered MR Flights - does anyone use this technique

Other strategies for powering a Multirotor from the ground!!! I was able to visit NRC - Canada in Ottawa back in the early 80s where they presented an electric RC glider that was powered from the ground using microwave energy beamed up from a tracking satellite type dish! It was something like...

    Flying near magnetic mountains

It would be good to know which of the FC functions rely most heavily on the digital compass versus the GPS positioning. 1) IOC Course lock must use the digital compass exclusively. 2) IOC Home lock I would assume requires both GPS and digital compass. 3) POI ???? 4) RTH ???

    colin guinn booted from DJI

I remain of the opinion that, in a majority of cases, fly-aways tend to be due to individuals who are not reading and/or following the documentation correctly. More specifically there is a lot of challenge in getting the RC transmitters mapped correctly all the way thru to the MR FC controls...

    Massive range problem

Glad you resolved this issue. However I recall reading somewhere, i.e., DJI or the Futaba documentation that the Receiver needs to be placed underneath and away from other components. So I located mine in between the top and bottom plate with the antennas hanging out the back of the MR. I get a...

    T-Motor worth the price?

I have used many Turnigy Multistar 420 KV motors, worked on a friends Hengli motors and also bought the Tiger-motors 4014 motors recently. There are some who claim the Turnigy Multistar motors are close knockoff to the Hengli but performance and a look inside makes it clear that the Hengli...

    Battery weight versus performance

Two colleagues raved about the superiority of their Thunderpower batteries as compared to my Turnigy Nanotech batteries so I thought I should investigate further. The common specs for both batteries are: 6S 25C 5000 maH The Thunderpower battery weighs 695 grams. The Nanotech battery...

Recommend a charging station for me!

Excellent choice Quinton, I purchased the 308 duo and am just about to try it out with brand new 6S 6000 maH batteries. IMHO establishing the IR at time of battery purchase and comparing it to the manufacturer's spec seems like a good way to start. Re: your final question.... There is a...

Tethered MR Flights - does anyone use this technique

Just this a.m. I was assisting a colleague by helping with tethered flight. But in our case, the tether was to ensure the MR height was aligned with the client's specific height requests in taking panorama shots of some new condo development. The intent is to show potential clients precisely...

6S batteries Are the Expensive Ones that much better?

Has anyone considering doing a weight comparison between equivalent output 6S batteries, i.e., a comparison between Turnigy Nanotech and Thunderpower in the 6000 maH category as an example. The reason I ask is because I have two friends raving about their Thunder Power batteries providing...
