Monto RC Hobby **Avroto** Motors Contest Giveaway!! Beyond the hover!

Does my picnic table count or should I slap on a sheet of plywood to block to spaces between the slats? I'll figure a picnic table would be convenient for many.

Monto RC Hobby **Avroto** Motors Contest Giveaway!! Beyond the hover!

Thanks guys. Yah, it is a bit of a wind tunnel. Will give it another go today. I mowed down the grass in a few spots as well. BTW that marks my very 1st online video :) Update: Another busted prop, bent motor shaft, busted arm, cracked frame, it was very gusty at times but I got film footage...

Monto RC Hobby **Avroto** Motors Contest Giveaway!! Beyond the hover!

Here's a link to me practicing and I need a lot more. I found it easier with a lighter touch down versus a bump. I've set the bar rather low, let's see more videos.

Someone could just edit in the clock afterwards. My guess is that with editing you might get an extra lap but more just wouldn't look right. Just tried some practice runs, this isn't going to be easy and will be hard on the landing gear.

    Time to design a contest!

How about having to move objects around. Something like have a rope hanging from the copter with a hook and hook something then carry it away a certain distance, repeat X times.

Tau Labs CC 1st flight, Having troubles fighting the wind.

Thanks, that did it. I set it for 360 deg/s and that's more like it. 10% expo on the tx and it's good. I'll try 720 at one point this week.

Tau Labs CC 1st flight, Having troubles fighting the wind.

I changed the angle limits to 70. WORLD of difference, this thing is a blast now. Speaking of blasts, "rocket ship" is fun :) Crash, I blindly changed the motor speed to 2000 as in the video, I haven't had any issues but only tried it on 3S. 2 more questions. 1) When running the motors at...

Tau Labs CC 1st flight, Having troubles fighting the wind.

All in all a pretty good 1st test flight, no crash and I had a smile on my face at the end. I did however found it very floaty, likely smaller props would help here (it had lots and lots of power tho). The main problem was that it was difficult flying into the wind, I couldn't angle it...

Looking at the video, it turned to 360 (due north, before taking off as indicated in the waypoint), just flew off in the wrong direction.

    Mikrokopter Position Hold.

No I don't have the foam but wouldn't that have more to do with holding altitude which is was doing rather well? It's not fighting the wind enough.

    Mikrokopter Position Hold.

My MK holds position quite well in calm weather. Today with a nice hot humid breeze it didn't do to well. Basically it got blown back 3 feet, angled into the wind, moved a foot forward, the moved back 3 feet, angled into the wind, moved a foot forward, etc.... Playing with GPS gain didn't help...
