    XAircraft SuperX

Welcome noid1037, I'm a little ways ahead of you. These forums are a great resource and members like Motopreserve are invaluable in getting airborne. Since diving into my Tarot T960/SuperX build in January I've been amazed at how smart and helpful the members on these boards are. Regarding...

XAircraft SuperX Log Reading - What Is Acceptable Vibration?

So you are referring to the plate your FC is on? Can't see the standoffs.

XAircraft SuperX Log Reading - What Is Acceptable Vibration?

Hmmm. I'm between 1 and 2, no decimal point like yours. I'll definitely need to make sure props are balanced, motors level, nothing is loose etc.

XAircraft SuperX Log Reading - What Is Acceptable Vibration?

Alright now that I've flown my 4th flight with my Tarot T960 and SuperX I'm starting to dig into the logs and try to read them. Since my bird is intended for aerial photos and video, obviously low vibration is a goal. What vibration numbers would be considered acceptable? I don't know what...

    Tarot T810

I decided this time to stay with the EC5 and give the leads more slack so the pressure point is not right where they attach to the connector. I looked at the Tartot option I mentioned above but it is too small. I use XT60 on my smaller bird, but they're not rated for as high an amperage as...

    XAircraft SuperX - Taranis - X8R

So on these connectors you're just going straight to your PDB?

Thanks for those links. They're out of the 400. Would there be an advantage or disadvantage to going with a 600?

    XAircraft SuperX - Taranis - X8R

Now that I've got four flights under my belt here are the some issues to figure out. 1. When detaching a battery yesterday my solder/cable came loose from the EC5 connector which goes to my power distribution board. Thank goodness this did not come loose during flight or it would have been...

    Tarot T810

I should be more clear with my question. I was using an EC5 connector coming from my power distribution board. The wear and tear of plugging and unplugging eventually took its toll and one of the EC5 solder points came loose, fortunately not in flight but when removing a battery. So I'm...

What did you use for the battery connector? I need to change mine.

    XAircraft SuperX - Taranis - X8R

For your enjoyment! I did a "real" flight today. Went out to a big empty field and did some basic, conservative flying. This bird is smooooooth and powerful. Takeoff and landing is SO easy!

Yeah we had the Monroe discussion! haha. I couldn't strap it down. I needed her to tell me if it was moving in different directions.

You may need to install this: https://code.google.com/p/companion9x/downloads/detail?name=dfu-util-0.7.mpkg I've got OpenTX Copanion running on my macbook pro right now. But I have yet to hook up my Taranis (I'm at the office) so not sure yet if it will work.

No problem. One other thing Drew told me was to move to OpenTX Companion, instead of Companion9X. Both work on the mac. OpenTX Companion looks much nicer.

Here you go. They have settings/channels in the eepe file for their gimbal also.

    XAircraft SuperX - Taranis - X8R

Communicated with Drew at XAircraft yesterday and this morning via email. He looked at my logs and is providing help. He sent me an eepe file to use for the proper Taranis setup, and also told me to ditch my voltage regulator and hook the SuperX directly to the PDB. That's the current plan.

    XAircraft SuperX - Taranis - X8R

Okay moving forward! I had the wife hold the hex for me while I tried my first props-on tests. That's so the damn thing didn't fly away. It was a really good idea to do that, as my throttle calibration must be messed up. After arming, nudging the throttle up a tiny bit sent the motors into...
