Layout of WKM components??

Bartman

Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
I was hangin' with Emowillcox last night and we were trying to figure out how the different components of the WKM should be fitted to the frame plates of the quad he's building. Can someone please post a clear picture of a WKM installation showing the position of the various components?
If someone wants to put together a quick rundown of the components (w/ photos please) and what they do I'll stick this thread in the DJI Forum for newbs to get started with DJI.
Thanks,
Bart

Hi This is how I have laid the electrics out on a X650V frame and it works well for me .
View attachment 1286View attachment 1287View attachment 1288
Basically on this frame , I first have the IMU on a mounting plate , then above this on another mounting plate raised with nylon pillars sits the MC .
The Gps module is on the tallest rod and is about 5cm behind the MC and the power module is on the right hand side of the frame and radio receiver is on the left hand side.
The Led is mounted to the rear of the quad at the top of the landing gear so is visible in flight.
Hope the pics help out.

Hi The Frame is Xaircraft X650V Carbon folding frame , and the motors are a 880kv I am currently testing before having them produced for my branding .
I have just taken delivery of a large batch of 3536 size motors today and they are superb and I have branded them Torxpower 3536 Pro.

I thought the latest Xaircraft looked pretty good as far as stabilisation goes. I was even thinking about getting one. Are there still some problems?

Nice Job....

I was thinking about going to this frame (if I can find it) and reusing the stuff I have which includes the WKM. Did you make those plates for mounting the GYRO and IMU as I'm assuming there are to many holes to just double stick tape them down. Did you use their motors and esc's. I have motors and esc's but I don't know if the esc's would fit in the arms. Mine are 30amp

i have the frames coming in stock this week , probably back end or very early next week , and it came with enough plates to mount everything as you see it .
I did not use there motors , and there esc's cannot be used as they are ultra pwm so will only work with there controller.
30a esc's might not fit perfectly in the slots as they are a bit bigger , but they will still be able to be mounted there and still be neat and tidy .

Looking at some of the pics here I can't see how you could lay that out with the wk-m and FPV. Can you send a picture. I just want to be comfortable in my mind before I start ordering the quad.

Thanks
Rich

Yes definately as i have FPV gear on mine .

By the way can I use my 885KV Scorpion motors on it. They are the SII-2212-885KV with the 10" props if I don't overload it. For now I will probably just get the camera mount for the GoPro and that is the payload. The battery, Camera Mount and GoPro. Then later FPV which maybe I'll have to change the motors and props but not sure.

Thanks

Hi Geoff...

Did you cut out the cover for the antenna to come up thru. If you cut it out you did a clean job no sure what you used.
