Will the GH3 version fly the GH4 with the 12mm lens?
My HDMi is screwed on my GH3 zen anyways so I just calibrate the gimbal and plug in an external HDMI and run a converter on the rig. (it limits continuous more than 360 deg pan, but my cam op and I almost never need that)

I have a job coming up where they want me to fly a GH4 and I don;t want to fly my Movi M5 right now as I am doing a TON of handheld work and I don;t want to risk it.

I believe so. I have not tried it. I have use the GH3 on a GH4 gimbal so why would a GH4 not work on a GH3 gimbal. You will have to swap out the HDMI cable but that should be all.

Hello All! First time post....wanted to say hi to everyone! Just received my S900 with A2 and GH4 gimbal..... also got the Lightbridge but have been reading about issues with it. Is anyone successfully using Lightbridge with the S900/A2 setup or are people still leaning towards using a more traditional 5.8 ghz video downlink?? (either DJi's or others) Thanks. Hope to be a constant member of this forum as I navigate through this process!

Plenty of people use lightbridge... what 'problems' are you talking about?

I changed my old zenmuse gh3 for the new gh4 last week. I'm getting the same problem on every flight. :dejection:

Ok see this video... Ignore the third clip I rushed to pump this out of final cut but you can see it in the first two shots.

I've followed the instructions to the letter and I can't get my GH4 to update... I get the 'No Valid Picture To Play' message that they elude to but don't elaborate on. Any ideas?

Are you actually talking about updating your GH4 to the latest version using the GH4__V20.bin
Make sure its def in your root folder, there is no need to format the card either.

Mine would not do it either until I selected the "P" I think it was on the camera, (try A and S if that doe snot work) then when I selected play it found the update.

Yep thats the one... there is no root foldershowing up on the SD card. To top it all off I've just inserted the SD card into the Mac disk drive instead of the card reader by mistake arghhhhh!

No idea what that means :) but, you could follow this older video.
He uses manual when upgrading, but it did not work for me.
Also your battery MUST have full charge or it wont see the FW update when you press play.

Just keep turning off, then on and immediately select play on the GH4 when your update bin file is in the root folder (the one that says Lumix X:) SD Card. (X being your drive letter)

Cheers Quinton. Looks like I might not be holding the play button down for long enough.

Will try again later!

Don't think it matters how long you hold play for, even just touching it quickly should work, however the important part is that your battery is fully charged, as it will not work with a less than full battery.

Hey guys I posted this video a ways back and wanted to give an update, I was running 1.4 firmware and since going to 1.8 have been problem free! Hope that helps some other users. I'm running my GH4 with an A2 flight controller and the update specifically says it addresses the involuntary pan axis movement... which so far it have been fine. I'll get a few more flights in to confirm but my two flight tests and letting it sit on the bench with power on for about 15 minutes all produced good results!

I changed my old zenmuse gh3 for the new gh4 last week. I'm getting the same problem on every flight. :dejection:

Ok i decided to fix the Gh4 myself by adjusting the set screws to that the GH4 does not bang against the gimbal on initialization...
Was not willing to wait another month after the short leg story.
Anyway, i have 2 issues:
- there is a a yaw drift. The S900 is dead stable but the zenmuse keeps slowly turning. Anyway to fix this except trim on the TX (i have a 2 man setup, 14SG for S900, 12FG for the zenmuse)
- main issue: the shutter does not work in still photography mode - which was for me the main reason for purchase...
I already have 1.8 Firmware. The shutter works well in video mode. In photography mode it looks like it is doing a 'half-press' on the camera but does not do a full press to actually take the picture.
The amount of fixing and troubleshooting with this kit is just unbelievable...
