Phantom 2 vs F550

Hello,

I've been having fun with my Phantom 1 but want to step up. I'm looking at the f550 because 1) I want a kit to build 2) can put a h3-3d + go Pro on 3) can later add FPV. The issue is that to get a f550 up and running with transmitter, gimbal and all is easily $1500.

I sometimes wonder if I should just get a Phantom 2 - cheaper for the same features. Please advise

Personally, I think F550 is much better.

Not really a true comparison, the F550 is a far more sophisticated and higher level multirotor than the Phantom.

Well that really depends on you mount it...which points to the main advantage of 550 -> fully configurable.
But the phantom is easier to carry...

Each have a different roll to play. Phantom is very limited to what it can do but does it very well... I have four or five quads or hexas and all come in handy. I use the F550 the most
because of range and power . The Phantom in tight places. I think at some point if your are really addicted to this sport there nothing like building one . Gives you a much better understanding
of what makes things work plus there not hard to build
