All I am waiting for now are the boom clamps, apparently coming on Tuesday/Wednesday. It looks like I might be able to fly it at the meet next weekend.

A quick weigh-in says it's 3.7kg all up, including 2 batteries...is that good or bad? :)

PS: it's a BEAST :) :)

Looking good Gunter, did you choose a flight controller in the end.

Yes, I opted for the Wookong M.

I've been up since before 8, my mate came around and helped me calibrate the esc's and set up the functions on the transmitter. Just struggling with getting failsafe to work, but I will leave that until the weekend when you guys can help me out :)

So we doing the maiden next weekend!?

I think so!

I really need help with a couple of things: With the help of Martin from buildyourowndrone.co.uk, we managed to configure manual mode, atti and gps on the toggle switch. I'm not sure how to get failsafe working, when we flicked off the transmitter, it didn't go to failsafe. I would also like to configure a failsafe switch so that it will come home if all goes wrong. Besides that, it's all calibrated and dialled in, esc's calibrated and just waiting for those bloody boom clamps!

Geoff also said he would send me dimensions of the new motor mounts when they arrive, so that I can have new mounting plates made if the new ones are too big. Fingers crossed they fit onto the existing plates.

Hi Gunter , What radio are you using to set failsafe ??
You need to dial in settings again , so that in all switch positions the failsafe is lit up , and dont forget to set at very least 10% throttle and then depending on radio save the failsafe settings to the receiver .
Then once this is done , put all settings back to as they were so 3 way switch swaps modes again and then test by switching off radio while connected to software to check throttle moves across and failsafe lights up .
If you don't manage to sort i will take a look next weekend when your at the meet .

Hi Geoff,

I'm using a Futaba T7C. We tried various settings, but nothing seemed to work...but we were strapped for time, so didn't persevere with it. I'll just leave it until I see you on the weekend and let the pro help me :)

Thanks,

Gunter.

Gunter,

Can you let me know what alloy and what gauge your 3/4 inch tubing for your booms is.

Ive got some cheapy cheap 6063 16swg stuff im going to start building with but im thinking a stiffer alloy and lighter guage would be better so may swap it out later.

Ive found a souce for some 20swg 6083 which I may like to use but was just curious what you used.

Many thanks.
