transitional lift

I was speaking with a friend of mine today who's a full size helicopter pilot. As we were talking about multi-rotors and my okto the subject of transitional lift came up and the question of whether it benefits MRC's the same as conventional machines. We decided it must as the increased airflow will enhance the lift of whatever leading edge is advancing into it at that moment. And casual observation shows that amp draw is nearly always lower in FFF than a hover, which also supports it. But out of curiosity, has anyone else considered this?

yeah translational lift definitely occurs in multirotors, its just another form of fixed pitched heli, I find if I'm struggling for lift in the hover a bit of forward cyclic always gets it up or a stiff breeze. Have you noticed how a gust of wind causes your machine to increase height without increasing throttle.
