Sorry, but it makes me laugh, brings back memories of my wire incursion incident! From personal experience I can say you won't have to worry about shorting out the acft system, or even damaging the wire. About the worst thing that could happen is to get the thing hung up and having the power company come out to remove it for you. Would be pretty embarrassing.
What it did teach me is to be more aware of my flying environment,,, but you have already learned this.

At the time, I believe it was nothing, didn't even ding a prop. Actually, I could have even recovered. I was using my monitor and when I heard the hit I looked up and saw the Hexa sling-shot to the ground, wobbling back and forth. Thinking I ruined a prop I just landed the thing as quickly as possible.

Later, however, I lost 1/2 a prop in a long range, ( for me anyway ), fpv flight that caused me to go down into a field of pumpkins! I spent a great deal of time tripping thru all the vines, falling down, and excercising the living hell out of my knee replacement.
I'm still putting it back together.
Lesson learned, don't assume that just because you don't see damage that none exists. After a prop strike it's a good idea to go over all the props with a fine tooth comb.
Had I flexed the props and examined the root I think I would have found it before it became such a hassle.

With respect, this should be a very sobering lesson. You really need to "ground yourself" until you have a better FPV system. Plus, of course, you need to be more aware of your flying environment.

Call me an old f***, by all means, but currently all the negative press is about the "drone" label. But as soon as somebody causes significant injury or damage with an FPV craft it will give the idiot press a second front on which to attack.

Interresting statement, Jess1111.

I disagree about the 'grounding yourself until' part. Seems to me, in reviewing the video, he was acting in a pretty responsible manner. Had he been flying in a city park or a crowded area,,,, but he wasn't. Looked like he was in a pretty open field there, to me. Not much to hit, but those wires.
In which case I agree, awareness shouldn't be an after thought.

It is a hobby, and as long as done in a responsible manner one that shouldn't be stepped upon.

I know, Jess, that you aren't chastising, so please don't take offence. I take none. And, I do get the point you are making. When things go wrong in this hobby, they go wrong in a hurry. Under FPV the risks increase exponentially. There are no excuses for safety.

Fly what you have, improve when you can, learn from others, beware of your envirornment, no excuses for safety, and accept responsibility for your actions. After all, every action performed has consequences.

I fully agree that, looking at the video, the fpv camera is poor. That's one of the big issues with these all in one kits, ( not saying this is one ). Would I fly it? No, I don't think that I would enjoy the experience. This is a hobby all about fun,,,, safety and responsibility, of course.

Well .. i thank you guys for the remarks.

As a responsible person i never fly in populated area.

If something goes wrong. I will hit no one.

The wires may damage my quad but no more.

And the video is ok for me. The youtube decrease quality.

I was not aware of the wires since i didn't see them.

But since i am aware of what can happen. I go to remote un populated agricalture fields.
