Hi Guys,

Here's a strange one.:dejection: My F550 is very stable. When I'm in GPS mode it holds tight and solid. When I fly forward it fly straight. So far so good, right?:nevreness: Well here's the thing, I flew it tonight, wind at 0Km, GPS mode held tight, but when I was in Attitude I noticed that it was drifting slowly to the right. Just to make sure it wasn't the slightest of breezes I turned the F550 around and tried hovering it again; sure enough it drifted to the right again.:dejection:

Anyone else experience this? Is there a way to calibrate the? I this normal?

Recheck the TX settings in the config tool. Check if you touch the trims on your radio. Check mechanically if everything is the same on the quad. Try the new Naza FW it allows you to recalibrate the IMU !

OK,

I updated to the new Firmware (not bad looks pretty good) and set up the naza from scratch again. Love that I can choose the Hz for the servos. I also checked the F550 carefully and everything looks mechanically okay. Motors are all even, no bends or twists in any of the arms, every thing looks ok. I have been able to find the part of the Assistant that allows you to calibrate the IMU gyros in the new FW. Is it so obvious that I just missed it or something?

it's under tools in the top dropdown menu

find something consistently flat like bubble level flat. put the quad on and calibrate. if it still drifts, put pieces of paper to slowly increase the number shown in the program till it stops. mine took twice but i got pretty lucky. when i hit check, it told me it was fine, but after i went ahead, it hovers hands free now in both modes unless theres wind. it is so much better

Thanks guys.

Under tools? Cool, didn't look there.:black_eyed:

That's good advice I did something very similar when I was setting up the OpenPilot Copter Control board. I like the OP CC as well, but it's a real trick to set it up. :livid:
