Mikrokopter SBUS Signal Inverter. Has anyone got exsperiance with it? I Want to use futaba w/ MK

Hey guys, I have a couple 14MZ's sitting around and would like to use them with the Futaba. Up until now I have really liked the simplicity of the JR Spektrum sats with the MK board. The Jeti has worked well too.

What is the best way to use a newer futaba with the MK FC?

I found this SBUS Inverter here, and was wandering if anyone has had exsperiance with it.

Chime in if your have used the inverter. Or even if you are successfully using Futaba with MK. Please list what you think is the safest and most compatible way to tie into the MK Flight control.

Thanks in advance for the tips.

Hello Patrick,

I'm using one with my 14MZ and I love it. Simple and clean install. This is for flight testing to allow easier tuning on the fly. I'll decide what Poti's I want to keep and normalize the rest.

I just followed the Wiki info. for installation.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply, I actually set it up a couple days ago on the 14MZ. I could emmediately tell a difference in control. The movements are very precise and crisp. I have been waiting for a good solution to break out the Futabas. I can say that the SBUS inverter is very nice, and works perfect. Extremely simple to install. Finally, a nice solution to run SBUS with the MK :)

Doesn't convert it, just inverts the signal for the FC (with later firmware) to read. FC does the sbus signal decode onboard.

I run SBUS on MK, DJI, as well as all my flybarless helicopters. It simplifies the wiring greatly.

That kind of defeats the purpose of SBUS, since you are left with the wiring mess again.

Frsky has been selling a series of FASST compatible receivers, some of which have CPPM output which you can connect directly to MK FC. I've been running this one for several months and it is rock solid, just as with most other Frsky products:

I
t even has RSSI output so you can display that on your OSD.
