Hello multicopter people. I have been flying scale helicopters since probably 2005, and in need of some change.
I live in Portland oregon, and take part in scale as well as 3D heli events in the northwest(flying scale mostly). I have dabbled in 3d flight etc..
Most of my past builds required many months and im hoping that a couple quad or hex builds will be a welcome change.
Ive watched the battery technology, and recently the gyro and 3 axis market explode and amazed at what is possible now. Just simply being able to ditch the mechanical flybar on my helicopters is awesome. I purchased a helimax 1sq mini quad a year ago and was blown away. why would anyone ever buy another one of those little crap coax or linkage/flybar fragile pieces of crap again?! I have a feeling a lot more young people are going to get into this, as they are much more forgiving and cheaper to repair!
anyway..
I am particularly interested in FPV and I have been lurking and researching here for a little while now. I have already purchased a dji f450, and am working out the rest of it over the next month or two.
wish me luck!
