Northwest Newbie

Hi there!!! I am from Central Washington State (Yakima Valley) and have caught the "droning" bug along with a few of my friends and family. I am quickly learning that droning is like car racing and I spend more time working on them than flying them! :) Hoping to get an operational FPV system up and running soon!! A few things I have learned in the last few months about my new hobby.

1. People either love drones or hate them! (people fear what they don't understand :)
2. The slow boat from China is REALLY SLOW!!
3. The more I do it the more i love it... I finally found my forever hobby!

If there are drone flyers or groups in the Northwest I would love to get in contact with them and share our common interests and talk shop!
Drone on droners!

Hey Sean, welcome to MRF!

Sounds like you got the bug like the rest of us. Believe me, you are NOT alone! :)

You're right, the slow boat seems VERY slow. Fortunately there are more and more retailers here in the States that stock quality parts. Even Hobby King now has warehouses here (one just up in Belingham).

Keep us updated on your progress (or should I say addiction?).

Have fun and fly safe.

Total addiction... :) finally flew my ZMR250 yesterday... definitely more exhilarating than flying the little guys! I can't wait to feel confident enough to use my FPV stuff... Bellingham is kind of in my neck of the woods... Good to know! Thank you for the welcome Motorpreserve. I look forward to many chats and info. exchanges. :)
Droning on!

Take it slow with the FPV. It can be really wild. I started with the monitor and have yet to fully immerse myself with goggles.

I still like to be able to look up and see what's happening. :)
