Motors with bullet connectors

Just wondring which is the preferred way. I have bullet connectors on the ends of 3" wires that come out of my motors. Are any of you using the bullet connectors on the wire extensions to the center of your copters or are you removing the connectors and soldering the extensions to the wires. I know some of the motors have long enough leads that you don't have to worry about it.

i always go with hard soldered, bullet are a potential failure point, with 4 motors, they represent 12 connections and 24 solderjoints, if any of those fail, you crash :) been there done it! Not fun

Fly,crash,glue,repeat!
The only drawback with that is ,if you have a crash and need to replace a motor quickly to get flying again.

From power board to ESC's I have soldered my connections, from the ESC's to motors I have kept the bullet connectors, but wraped each bullet in heatshrink.

Yes same of me. much more easy when replacing engines or when an arm breaks. and with shrink-wrap it will stay in place.
Soldering on your esc's probably isn't that good for them...

Im another who solders the esc wires, Ive had a bullet connector failure, flipped my Hexa because of it. 9 months later since I soldered them I haven't had any problems. I fly every day and have 3 different machines running.

Do you heat shrink each bullet connector so they don't short on each other or do you do that and then put heat shrink over the bullets after connected together.

You could do both or just one large to cover all.
I did both, some extra insulation never hurts.

I do each one individually, then if there is a problem, just slice the covering off & slip in a new motor.
