Hoverfly Intro to Spektrum and HoverflyPro Setup

I was asked to provide a tutorial on my Spektrum setup for the Hoverfly Pro. Here it is - it doesn't cover everything but if folks have further questions I could extend the tutorial. It shows how I mapped the switches to various channels as well as the mixing and expo settings.

Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
Hi Marlon,

Does that radio allow you to map any function to any switch? My JR 9503 has limited switch/function combinations. There are enough to make it work but I was just wondering.

Thanks,
Bart

Bart, I have been wonderingt he same, from what I've read YES you can map anything to any of the two top panel switches...would be a very handy TX.

Bart, as Macsgrafs indicates it seems that the answer is yes, I just verified that by going into the Channel assignments, I can assign any switch to any channel. There are also switches on the sticks as well, one in front and one on the top of each stick - those could be setup for autotrim but I haven't read good results with that (forums). Regardless, I was able to achieve the same thing with the sliders. However, those could activate any other channel - e.g. a camera shutter activation because that might be convenient for some (not so useful for us because we use a separate transmitter for controlling the camera). The switches on the sticks were what drew me to this transmitter but now I am not sure how I would use those. I don't think those would work well for setting flight modes (possible to do). Any ideas?

One of the limitations is there are only a certain number of mixes that are possible. I am using 4 - it looks like the limit is 6 mixes.

By the way I love the tray format because I use my fingers to control the sticks rather than thumbs - it just seems more ergonomically comfortable than how my DX6i works.

Started with thumbs because thats how all the old timers did it, (I was 22 at the time so anyone older than me or with more experience than me was an old timer). Then one day many years later, I saw a guy flying Pinch Style! It was for sure an Ah-Ha moment. Been flying Pinch Style ever since and have never looked back.
