Teryn1...what is your frame??

SleepyC...is this the same build when you did the Avroto review??

Beautiful rigs, guys...thank you for posting this. I like the 3M VHB tape idea, I know its used in the marine and RV industry very effectively. I was just wondering if anyone came up with a way or a product to bolt these down. But it seems that may not be necessary.

Any thoughts??

nope, the tape provides antivibration dampening. use what came with your kit, it is designed to dampen the right vibes for what were doing....

Thank you kloner...

I hope to be up with my build within the next week. Just received it today. I am going with a simple FPV quad for now. I loved my HFP with GPS, but that company seemed to move on to bigger things. I guess its time for me to move on also. Ill post photos and video when I have it flying.

I love my Super X but I have to admit I'm a little disappointed they have you tape everything down. I would rather bolt things down myself. But I did use the included tape and it seems to be working okay. But ill have to get new tape if I decide to move the gear. I did use 3M Dual Lock to secure the IO block, makes it easier to move around.

FWIW, I have been using the 3M mounting tape in electric powered models for over 30 years and have never had an issue of any sort. Both current multis are assembled this way.

also especially with sensitive stuff like FC's and IMU's hard mounting can really be a problem.

I actually mount a piece of 30 shore 1/4" thick Sorbathane under my Flight Controls. Kills almost all vibrations and it seems to helps stability a lot.

AND, I had a problem recently with a gimbal where I hard mounted the IMU, I redid it with 2 layers of 3M sticky tape, and it improved a lot!

Like Electro 2 I have been using double sided servo tape since 1986 on IC helis, Electric 12th and 10th scale cars, and more recently on Electric Helis and Multi rotors all without incident except I would never use it on servos for pitch, cyclic or tail on a heli because any movement can be disastrous. However, for mounting RX and FC in multi rotors it is excellent.
