I have a really "brilliant" idea

I was thinking when we want to shoot in areas that we may be hassled in, we can get some orange safety cones, a fake permit, and a cop uniform. So get a photocopy of a local permit and tape it to one of the cones. Get your wife or friend to wear the police outfit and just get your shot. By the time the authorities check into it you are gone! Then, as a back-up plan, tell anyone that asks the shot you were trying to film was a police officer giving a ticket for flying a multi-rotor. The fake permit was a movie prop.

Thank you
thank you very much.

Don't tell me that you got hassled, again?

As far as your idea goes, let us know how that works out for you!

Haha Nice.
In the city where i live we can't get permission to fly multirotors, but if i attache a rope it's a Kite and then they are OK with it

it's going to be a documentary on the ongoing issues of hot cops harassing heli pilots.

Scene 1:

Female Cop(sexy european voice): "Hello there, do you have a permit for that?"

Innocent heli pilot: "Yes mam, it is attached to my cone, you want to see it?"

Female Cop: " I'm afraid I am going to have to do a THOROUGH inspection of everything here."

Innocent heli pilot: " ok, bb but....."

Female Cop: " Shut up and get in the back of my car."

Sorry....I signed up and this is the first post which caught my attention. If I read this right, you guys are not allowed by law to fly your Copters and shoot films....? I live in Austria, and if some so called "authority" would come and hassle me for flying and filming with my Copter....he would get the haircut of his life with my Hexacopter....six blades can do some serious weed rooting....:dejection:

btw: The idea with the wife in cop-uniform will be discussed tonight at home....maybe not the original fabric but rather the more shiny material....

Cheers

The law is not the problem here. Only one old local police commissioner who does not like copters.
Maybe he wanted one for Christmas when he was a child, but did not get it one.
Let's hope he retires soon.

Oh before i forget. My insurrence does not pay in a event if we do not have legal permission.

Ross: I am always serious about not being serious. I need a cop outfit and I am off to film. The wife gave me permission. Bart, do I have your permission to use my wife in ways not intended by this forum? clearly no one had a problem with me lifting her upside down with my forklift.

lol. Now this is an interesting thread. :) Hit and run missions. Small multicopters are easy to deploy. I flew my hexa in shopping plaza to obtain photos of a circus. No one knew who was flying it even though I was in the parking lot with the controller. I just looked like all of the other spectaters. :).

I like the orange cone idea. If you want to obtain photos etc. Look official, like maintence or survey personnel. You won't generate complaints, because people will assume you have authority to fly. :) Set up a tripod like you're taking measurements etc. and people will leave you alone. :) A construction hat is nice too. :) I like this thread. :) lol! I don't know about the cop uniform though...unless she's sexy. :) lol.
